Kimberly

A screech that sounded like a cat's tore through the house. My head was banging.

Samuel and Kyle were still sleeping so I stood up from the bed. After my little exercise with Samuel, Kyle woke up and had to eat. So I stayed awake almost all night until he slept.

I groaned as I brushed my teeth. It was Sunday and Samuel and I were planning to go back home in the evening.

I opened the door and walked out of the room to see the person making such a loud noise.

A lady dressed in a seductive red bodysuit with her hair in a high ponytail that reached her butt was talking to Matilda like they were best friends. She turned around and damn she was pretty.

" Hey Kim, I'd like you to meet Jennifer. A good friend of the family." Matilda introduced.

" Finally, I get to talk to the person that took my Sammy from me. " She said as she stared at me with dislike.

What is wrong with the friends that this family keeps.

That voice sounded familiar. I know I heard that voice somewhere and I didn't like it.

Then it clicked.

It was her name. Yes! Jennifer. The person that was saying I was a golddigger at my first party.

" I didn't know that Samuel was anyone's property." I said to her. I wasn't going to let someone like her talk to me in that manner.

" Damn you've got some mouth on you. I'll be sure to do something about that. " She said as she glared at me.

" What's all the noise about?" Mandy said as she walked down the stairs gracefully and immediately, Jennifer's face contoured into a big smile and she ran to hug Mandy.

" Of course, it's you. How're you doing dear?" She asked.

" I'm fine auntie." Jennifer said as they separated from the hug.

" I see you've met Kim my daughter. Oh wait, I recall that you were present at her introduction party weren't you??" Mandy asked.

" I was auntie, but I didn't get the chance to talk to Kim personally." She explained.

" Anyways, Kim this is Jennifer. You met Claudia her mother yesterday. " Mandy said.

I finally realized why that woman was giving me weird looks. Of course, her daughter and her planned to get her married to Samuel and I ruined their plan. That's why they dislike me.

" It's lovely meeting you Jennifer but I think my husband needs me now. I'll see you later Mandy. I'll be down to help with breakfast" I said as I walked to my room.

When I got there both of my men were sleeping. So I had my bath and went downstairs to prepare breakfast with the chefs. When we were almost done, Samuel entered the kitchen with Kyle who was speaking gibberish .

" Good morning." I said to my handsome husband as he leaned forward for a kiss.

I figured he just brushed his teeth because he tasted fresh and minty.

" Good morning, your son actually woke me up. It seems he's very fluent in baby language."

" Good morning sir." A maid greeted as she entered the kitchen.

" Good morning Susan." While he was replying, I heard Jennifer's voice as she approached the kitchen.

" Sammy, Sammy I'm here." She called out as she entered the kitchen.

" Jennifer hey, how've you been." He asked as he gave her a side hug.

" I'm fine Sammy. I've missed you so much."

" Me too Jenn, anyways this is my wife Kimberly. Kim, this is Jennifer my childhood friend."

" I know, I've met her already." I
said.

He smiled. " Great, I'll leave you ladies now. Kyle and I are going for a walk." He said as he walked away.

Jennifer gave me a sinister look before she left the kitchen.

I smiled at the maids and chefs apologetically. " Family drama."

At the table, I noticed that Jennifer was desperately seeking attention from Samuel.

That lady just doesn't know when to stop.

" Remember when we were kids Sammie, when you said you were going to end up with me and we would grow old together??" She asked.

Everyone stopped eating immediately.

" Jennifer, we were kids. That's enough now. You wouldn't want to offend my wife." He said as he continued eating.

It gave me a little- I mean- it gave me a great deal of joy that Jennifer was unhappy.

She needed someone to put her in her place.

Matilda, Samuel, Kyle and I returned home. A little after seven pm . Matilda went to her room and Samuel went to make some calls. While I focused on preparing Kyle for bed.

After I laid him to bed, I decided to give Abigail and Paul a call. I haven't heard from them in more than a month.

After the second ring, Abigail picked up the call. It was a lot of catching up that we had to do. I told her about everything. I mentioned Jennifer and she told me to be cautious around someone like her. I didn't mention Matilda. I asked about Paul and her children.

Before I got off the phone, she said something that has been troubling me.

" Kim, your parents are worried. They've not heard from you in a while."

I thanked her and said I was definitely going to call my mom. I didn't want to tell her everything over the phone. I wanted to meet with her personally. I wanted her to see and touch her grandson and hug me because I missed her so much. Even my dad too.

With that thought, I went to freshen up.

Samuel wasn't in the room. I guess he was too busy.

I couldn't wait as I was tired so I dozed off.
