Chapter 11

A knock on my door woke me up from my sleep. I glanced at the wall clock. It was 10am.

I opened the door and Mandy came in with Kyle

She gave me a warm smile." Hello Kim, I trust you had a good night sleep."

I gave her a guilty smile." Yes I did, Mandy I want to apologise for whatever inconveniences I caused you and your family last night. I'm really sorry." I apologised.

" Oh no it's fine Kim, " she placed Kim on the bed. " I've been in your shoes before and adjusting to this lifestyle is not easy. I can assure you. But you'll get used to it."

"Are you speaking from experience?" I asked her.

She let out a laugh"Yes my dear, I wasn't always rich. I was a college student and was working as a part time maid for the blackwood family. That's when I met Daniel. He was the most beautiful man I've ever met. It was sort of love at first sight for me. I had a crush on him for months until I bumped into him and I found out he was the most arrogant person I've ever met. He insulted me a lot. He teased me. He made my life a living hell and I couldn't quit because I needed the money. His family was paying me a generous amount of money and I needed it to pay my student loan. "

" I still loved him irregardless of how he treated me. He disgraced me in front of his friends and I couldn't take it anymore. I quitted my job and I got another one even though it didn't pay as much as Daniel's family did. I didn't hear from him for a while."

" Must have been hard for you." I said.

"It was my dear''

" I ran into Daniel when I and my boss travelled to Spain for a conference. It took a lot of convincing and a lot of time before we acknowledged our feelings for each other. It's a long story and I'll tell you some other time but the point is, I got used to this life. It's not so bad and I have a feeling you can handle this. She said. I have to make some arrangements. I'll see you later. Mandy said and she left.

I sighed and held my baby close to me. I brushed my teeth and then went downstairs to get some breakfast. Then I freshened up and fed Kyle. As soon as Kyle fell asleep, I heard a knock on my door and I stood up to open it.

Samuel entered the room.

" I want to talk to you Kim."

" Sure, have a seat. I pointed towards the direction of a chair."

He cleared his throat." Do you remember I told you that my mom wanted us to go on a honeymoon?" he asked and I gulped knowing the direction he was going.

" Yes I remember." I replied.

" Well then my mom has made arrangements for us to visit our family private island for two weeks and she insisted that Kyle stays with her for that period.

"But-but I can't leave without Kyle. So that's your plan? You're trying to separate me from my son. "

" Gosh Kimberly. I'm not trying to take Kyle away from you. You're already my wife. The world knows you're my wife what would I gain if I take Kyle away from you. My mom thinks we're in love and she just wants us to enjoy each others company. She wants to take Kyle off your shoulders for two fucking weeks is that too much to ask for?" he asked running his hands through his head repeatedly.

I felt his frustration and I actually thought about it. Maybe this vacation would actually help me. I needed a break too.

" It's not. I'm sorry Samuel. I'll go on the vacation with you."

He smiled." I'm glad you understand. "

" We'll leave in 72 hours. So that you can spend more time with kyle. I have to go back to work. See you in the evening. If you need anything don't hesitate to call.
