It was almost December and it was going to be my first Christmas with my husband and son. I needed it to be perfect.

I wouldn't say I'm a religious person. But I believe in God and I know he's out there watching over me. I knew the essence of Christmas and what it meant to true Christians. I love Christmas. I love it because Christmas signifies the greatest love given to us. The birth of the son of God that came to save humanity.

I wanted to host a Christmas party. Maybe have my parents and Paul with his family fly in.

Then my baby boy would have the opportunity to meet his grandparents, uncle and cousins.

Kyle was a big boy now. He had already started crawling and has been moving around in his walker. I had everything recorded on video.

After we came back from Samuel's parents house, I barely saw Matilda again. She was always with Jennifer.

There was a lot of things that I didn't like about her. I didn't feel comfortable with her around me and my family.

" Ma'am, Excuse me ma'am." I was interrupted from my thoughts by Hazel.

" Oh hi Hazel, I didn't know you were here. Have a seat." I gestured to one of the couches.

" Thank you. I don't want to take much of your time. I just came to tell you that I passed my college entrance exams and I'll be going to college soon."

" Oh my gosh. I'm so happy for you. What are you planning on studying??"

" Human physiology. I'd like to be a lecturer someday" She said.

" Oh that's so nice. I'm so happy for you Hazel. ''

" Thank you so much Kim." She said with the biggest smile on her face.

I actually liked Hazel. She's so dedicated and hardworking. She was always reading. She reminded me a lot of my self when I was her age.

The only difference was that instead of books, I was always looking at fashion magazines and drawing any design I could think of.

    " I'll leave—"

The sound of my phone ringing interrupted Hazel.

I sprung to my feet because I thought Samuel was the one calling me.

She handed me my phone and the caller ID showed Matilda. I picked the call.

" Hey Kim, I was wondering if you could go shopping with me tomorrow.  You can come with Kyle too. I miss you guys already please don't say no." She pleaded.

She sounded genuine and I really wanted to work on my relationship with her as she was my husband's sister. Maybe get her to leave Jennifer's company. I knew that, that witch was using her.

  " Okay fine. " I replied hesitantly.

" Great, I'll pick you by 5pm tomorrow." She said as she hung up. She didn't even give me a chance to protest.

    *****************$**
I told Samuel about it as soon as he came back from work. He didn't like the idea.

" Matilda is a very mischievous person. I wonder what she's up to" He said as he caressed my shoulders, luring me to a dreamless sleep.

When I woke up, it was morning and Samuel's side of the bed was cold.

I went to Kyle's room to prepare him for the day. He was still sleeping. I'm sure Samuel came to feed him when I was sleeping.

I left him to continue sleeping while I went to brush my teeth and arrange my bedroom.

When I was done with my personal hygiene, I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for myself.

After breakfast, I went to my room to write down my plans for the party whilst munching on a cookie I stole from chef Luigi.  Then I heard Kyle's voice.

   My baby boy was awake.

He was playing with his Kung Fu panda teddy .

" Hey baby, how're you doing. " I said as I rained kisses on him and he gave his a smile that I absolutely love.

I really love my son. He's so adorable.

The day went by so quickly and before I knew it, it was already 3pm. I spent the whole day contemplating taking Kyle with me.

   I decided not to.

I had my bath again and dressed up. I wore a black jeans trouser and a white T-shirt then I wore my black sandals. I wanted to look as casual as possible.

I asked Samuel when he would be home and he promised to be back by five so I would have to leave Kyle with Gerta.

As soon as it was five . The unmistakable blaring of Matilda's horn could be heard all over the house. I stood up and carried by bag, placed my phone, lipgloss, some cash, my debit card and a tiny bottle of oil perfume.

I gave Kyle to Gerta and kissed him goodbye.

" Don't worry Kim, I'll take good care of him." She promised

" Okay, I trust you Gerta." I said as I walked out of the house.

Matilda was sitting in her car chewing gum in a very unladylike manner which was surprising because she always exuded perfection.

" Hi Kim,  Where is Kyle? I thought that you were going to bring him. " She said with a frown on her face."

" Um I didn't want to stress him out. He needs to rest." I said.

" Ughh whatever, we can do without him anyway. Why don't we go to the Royal Mall first. They have a new line coming in today." She said.

" Matilda, Royal Mall is like an hour away. Don't you think we should do our shopping somewhere close by?"

" But I really want to go there please. I've been anticipating it for quite sometime." She pleaded.

" Okay fine. Let's go." I said reluctantly.

I busied myself with typing on my phone. I sent my mom a long message explaining to her how sorry I was for not reaching out earlier. I didn't tell her everything but I made sure to tell her that there was a long explanation that I had to give to her and that my son and I were doing fine.
