Samuel
They say you don't know the value of what you have until you lose it. I didn't realise how much Kim meant to me until she was kidnapped. I miss her so much and I want her back at all costs. There's no way I'm going to give into the kidnapper's demand. I refuse to divorce Kimberly. The police were deeply involved in looking for her. I hired the best detectives and private investigators. Matilda was questioned by the police and she gave them the same story that she doesn't know why she was released and that she doesn't know anything about the kidnapper. The police went through her car GPS hoping to find a clue and unfortunately, the GPS records didn't reveal anything useful. The detectives reviewed footage from the mall and nearby establishments. It revealed nothing. It was clean as if, Kimberly was never kidnapped. All we met were setbacks. It was exhausting, but I won't rest until Kimberly was safe.
"Sir, we have ten hours left from the time given by the kidnappers. What are you going to do?" Francis, my personal assistant asked.
"I'll give them half of my company."
"But sir, that's worth over a hundred million dollars. "
"Listen, I don't want to but my wife's life is worth more than that." I said. I have a plan. There's no way that I'm going to let that fucker get away with it.
"I think you should go home and rest now sir, its already past ten now." Francis advised.
I didn't even realize that it was late. I've not seen my son since I left the house at 8am.
"You can leave first. I need to make a phone call." I said to Francis.
I called the private investigator and he said that he hadn't found anything. All the footage from the mall revealed nothing.
"You incompetent fool, what do I pay you for? Bring me something, anything. Please!" I pleaded.
I hung up. I opened my gallery and stared at a picture of Kimberly. she was sleeping, completely unaware that I had taken a picture of her.
"I'll find you Kim. I promise."
Just then, Francis barged into my office, looking out of breath.
"I thought I asked you to leave?" I asked.
"You need to hear this sir. I saw this girl standing outside the company and out of curiosity, I watched her and she kept going back and forth as if she was contemplating whether or not to enter so I went to meet her and..."
"Get to the point Francis." I don't have all day to listen to him talk about some girl that he met.
"She knows where your wife is, Sir."
I blinked, letting what he said sink in.
Someone knows where my wife is.
"Where-where is she?"
"She's standing outside."
I ran outside immediately. The young girl was standing cautiously staring around.
"You said you know where my wife is?"
She looked me dead in the eyes. "Yes I do." Her teeth were brown and her clothes were filthy.
What if this was someone that wants to take advantage of my situation?
"Listen, you have to promise that you'll guarantee my safety after this. I could be killed for doing this." She said.
"I'll do whatever you want just tell me where my wife is." I said to her.
She took a huge breath." I don't know who is holding her captive, I just have the address for you. I was paid to feed her." She said to me." May I have a pen and paper?" She asked.
I gave a sign to Francis to bring the pen and paper. She scribbled an address on the paper and handed it to me.
" If this is accurate, um what's your name?" I asked her as I could feel happiness rising from my chest.
"My name is Lily."
"Lily, if what you're saying is true, I'm going to change your life. Francis take care of her." I ran towards my office to pick my phone."
"Sir!" Francis called out
"Sir where are you going to?"
"I'm going to get my wife." I said as I stormed out of the office

I immediately called the detective in charge of my wife's case. He was shocked to hear that someone knows where Kimberly is. He told me to give him thirty minutes to go to the station and round up officers to help in rescuing Kim.
While the officers got ready, I sat there in front of the police station thinking.
I was finally going to see my wife. I'm going to tell her how much I have missed her and how my life felt incomplete without her in it. I'm going to tell her that I'm in love with her and that I will never leave her side again.
My thoughts were interrupted by a tap on my shoulder.
"Mr. Blackwood, I will advise that you stay here and wait. We do not know if this is a trap and I do not want to put you in harm's way. I can assure you that we'll bring your wife safely to you." The officer tried to discourage me from going.
I pushed his hands away from my shoulders" Nonsense! I'm going to get my wife."
The detective sighed. "At lest, wear a vest for safety." He said.
I nodded as I went with him to the back room to put on a bullet proof vest.
Everything else was a blur until we got to the address.
As I stepped out of the police car, my heart pounded with a mix of fear and determination. I took a minute to survey the surroundings, with the warehouse with a giant door that had a lock standing proudly in front of me. The officers moved swiftly and with collective effort, they forcefully break the doors shattering the silence.
The doors finally open after a few minutes. The room was clouded in darkness making it very hard for me to see but, adrenaline coursed through my veins, my eyes adjusted to the darkness as I cautiously stepped forward scanning the room for any sign of Kimberly.
"Mr. Blackwood, hold on!" A police officer shouted but I refused to listen.
"Someone turn on their light." Another voice said.
Each second felt like eternity as my heart pounded violently in my chest.
I could see better now, the officers were with some sort of torchlight so I could see the warehouse as I entered further.
Where are you, Kim?
And then, there she is. In a corner of the room, I saw her silhouette. Without hesitation, I ran towards her with my arms outstretched as i enveloped her in a warm embrace.
"I found you Kim, you're safe now" I whispered to her. That was a promise that I will keep.
