Jaehyun woke up the next day and, several drawings and phrases by Taeyong greeted him when he opened his eyes. He felt nice just seeing them, like his heart was fluttering. For the first time in his miserable life, he was able to feel relief first thing in the morning. He didn't even have a nightmare this time. He could honestly cry when the sudden gush emotions started flooding. It really meant so much for him. A little happiness could make his whole day.

His door opened and revealed his aunt coming in. Jaehyun sat on his bed, looking at the elderly with teary eyes.

"Jae, breakfast--Hey, what happened?"

She went to sit beside her nephew. The man just covered his face with both of his palms and sniffled a bit. All his aunt could do was hug him and asked why, but Jaehyun couldn't answer her for a moment from the emotions he was feeling.

He was just so happy.

"I don't think I want to attend Interschools," Johnny said, leaned back against his backrest while he sips on his drink. They were in a table in the cafeteria since there was no classes again because apparently, their professor will be a part of the management team for the Interschools.

Taeyong shrugged, "I want to watch Yuta. Won't Sungchan play soccer too?"

"Yeah, but you know in sports, you'll have a small chance of getting into the field if you're not good at the sport," the man uttered.

"Eh? Sungchannie is good at soccer. Jungwoo actually asked him if he could teach him," the boy said, knowing that their younger friend could play well.

"I feel like getting lazy just thinking about it."

"But Ten will perform, won't he?

Johnny rolled his eyes, "Are you just trying to convince me to come because you don't have anyone else but me?"

Taeyong nodded with a smile and puppy eyes. The man looked at with disgust, not getting used to his friend pleading with puppy eyes.

"And if you ditch me, I'll curse you," Johnny said with eyes squinting at Taeyong.

"When did I ditch you?!"

The man shrugged, "Anything can be a first time."

Taeyong thought he has a point. Then his alarm went off. He looked at his phone and immediately dismissed the alarm. He looked at Johnny who was confused why he has that on set.

"You never put an alarm, Taeyong."

"It's for work."

"Work doesn't start in two hours!"

The boy waved his hand at him, grabbing his bag and standing from his seat, "I want to be early this time. Also, Taeil hyung was asking for some extra help. Apparently, there are many owners setting up an appointment today."

Johnny raised an eyebrow, "See? You're ditching me!"

"It's called ditching if I didn't let you know I'm going, John."

"Fine. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Take care!"

Taeyong ran out of the university grounds and called for a taxi. He was taking turns with his mother and he's using it every night so it was fine if he couldn't use it to university.

He didn't really take too long and arrived at the apartment. The boy excitingly walked towards the door and knocked on it. He heard faint footsteps and when it opened, Jaehyun's aunt greeted him.

"Ah, you're here, earlier than expected, Taeyong-ah," she said with amusement and a small smile on her face.

Taeyong chuckled, "The professor didn't attend anyway so I came earlier. Am I in a bad timing?"

"Actually, you just came at the right time. I have to go and buy some groceries. You can stay here with Jaehyun for a while," she uttered softly.

"Well, that's why I'm here," the boy said.

The aunt nodded, "There's food in the fridge if you're hungry. Help yourself, okay?"

"Okay, Ms. Jung."

The aunt went out with a bag on her shoulder. Taeyong then walked in and closed the door behind him. He looked around and figured that Jaehyun's still in his room. He walked towards the man's door and knocked on it before he opened.

"I'm here," he said.

Jaehyun looked at his direction, "Hello...", more in a casual tone but still struggles.

He just keeps getting better.

Taeyong smiled and took a seat on the swivel chair that was for the study table. Jaehyun placed the journal, after writing, on the bedside table and turned to face the boy.

"How are you? You seem to be in a good mood," the boy uttered softly but he was containing his happiness inside to see the man again.

The man shrugged, "Fairly."

"Why? Was it the sugar cookies' taking effect?" Taeyong jokingly asked.

It was more like Taeyong's effect.

"Maybe, it is. I'm not sure..."

A brief comfortable quietness filled the room. Taeyong suddenly remembered the thing he was thinking about a while ago. Since he's father won't be able to be with him tonight for the practice, Jaehyun might just want to be go with him. Also, night driving's fun.

"I was thinking if you want to go with me tonight," Taeyong uttered, coming up with a new topic.

Jaehyun raised an eyebrow, "Tonight?"

The boy nodded, "I've been practicing my driving skills every night with my dad but he's away for a few days so...I guess you'd want to go with me instead."

"What are we going to do?"

"Anything...If you want, we can check out the night market. If not, we can just have a small ride to breath some fresh air."

The man took a moment to think but he nodded as an answer.

The boy gasped and clapped, "Great! I'll treat you something you like later. I should bring you to other places too some other day. What do you think, Jaehyunnie?"

He used to hate Taeyong calling him that nickname.

"I'll think about it..."

"Yeah, sure, take your time! It'll be fun," Taeyong said then proceeds to talk about his day even though he just spent the past few hours with Johnny in the cafeteria.

Jaehyun would always stare at him, adoring how happy Taeyong is.
