how fucking long can you take to get to someones' house?
i huffed, running my hand through my hair.
despite my unfriendly thoughts, i was dying with excitement. i'd finally get some alone time with alaska.
my soulmate.
just thinking about her name brought a smile to my face. my eyes slid shut as i pictured her, her adorable nose, her few freckles, her faded dusty blue hair.
and her eyes.
she had sectoral heterochromia, meaning she had one light blue eye, the other mostly blue and part violet. and because of her species, they were naturally vibrant, making them seem as if they were glowing and lighting up her whole face.
but i liked to focus on her other features as well.
fuck her baggy clothes. they always cover up an otherwise perfect view.
wow, i'm one to talk. i laughed as i gazed at my choice of clothing, which was several times larger than it needed to be.
my eyes snapped to the sidewalk as i saw a figure come into view of my window. i stared eagerly at it, deciding that yes, it was allie, before running out of my room, into the hallway and to the door.
i waited for her to ring the doorbell, plus a few moments, then walked slowish to open the door for her.
what? i didn't want to seem too eager, even if i am.
she put on her adorable little crooked smile when i opened the door. i smiled back, then frowned. she was absolutely soaked.
"you should have let me pick you up," i scolded her as i waved her in, then directed her to a coat hanger.
she shrugged. "i like walking,"
i licked my lips as i watched her peel off her jacket and hang it up, then shake out her hair.
i flinched when some drops hit me in the face. she looked up at me, a guilty look on her face.
"sorry, it's instinctual," she apologized, pulling off her shoes.
i laughed. i knew this, of course, from... past experiences.
"all good. do you wanna wear a pair of my sweatpants? yours are soaked," i said.
she shook her head.
why does this girl have to be so quiet?
i bit my lip. "please?" i said quietly. she gave me a puzzled look, so i continued.
"it'd make me feel better if i knew you were comfortable," i explained.
she still looked confused, but merely shrugged. "okay, i guess,"
i held in my smile until i had turned away to lead her to my room.
i watched her reaction as she stepped into the red light. her eyes roamed the room for a second, stopping at my anime figures before she moved on to the posters with a blush dusting her cheeks.
chuckling lightly, i opened a drawer and tossed a pair of sweatpants similar to her own.
she thanked me, then stared at me for a moment, the blush on her cheeks darkening as we stood longer in silence.
confused, i opened my mouth to ask what was wrong, then understood.
"oh- you want me to- yeah, i get it now,"
i turned around and waited impatiently for her to give me the okay before i could looked at her again.
i mean, i wouldn't have minded seeing her in her underwear, but that's not for today. besides, i'd figured she wasn't super comfortable in herself, and i didn't want to push her past her comfort zone.
i bit my lip again as i eyed her, unable to resist letting my eyes scan her body. or what i could see, anyway. i noticed now that she was wearing a comfy looking hoodie with a few words in the front. she was so cute, and she looked so... holdable.
as soon as that crossed my mind, i smiled. maybe later.
she smiled back a little mischievously, then pointed at one of my justin bieber posters. "never would have taken you to be a bieber fan" she laughed.
i rolled my eyes. "yeah, don't tell anyone," i muttered. okay, i kinda liked shy allie better.
her smile dropped some, and i instantly felt guilty. "okay, how do you wanna start this?" she asked, pulling her laptop out of her bag.
school. i forgot that was why she came over.
