january 1, wednesday

i sighed and blinked my eyes open. my body felt stiff, like i'd been asleep for a long time. i was aware of a strange...connection. I felt, myself, tired and confused, but there was something else like... concern, or worry.

i looked up beside me, unable to hold back a little smile. billie laid beside me, tracing something on my wrist. I felt contented for a moment, until i realized what she was looking at. i sat up and jerked my arm away from her.

she looked up at me in shock, but her face went blank quickly.

i noticed that she'd dressed me. not in anything special, just a plain t-shirt and some comfy shorts. but as i drew my arm away from her, i gasped.

i yanked up the short sleeve of my shirt. there, slightly cut off, was a tattoo of an innocent-looking and honestly kinda adorable wolverine, with sprouts of holly and flowers which i assumed were chrysanthemums peeking out all around it.

billie took my hand gently. like she'd been doing before, she slowly drew her fingers over the healed cuts on my wrist. she looked up at me, and i struggled to hold her gaze.

"are you okay?" she asked tenderly, her other hand reaching up to my cheek.

i swallowed. "th-those a-are old. i have- haven't, um... done anything, f-for over a month,"

she smiled at me, but there was a hint of sadness in it. "i'm proud of you, babygirl, but are you okay?"

i thought a about it for a moment, but it would have been the same if i'd blurted it out. billie has changed my life so much, mostly in a good way.

"i am," i said quietly. billie nodded and dropped my hand. she rose to sit beside me, smiling faintly as she shifted her attention to the tattoo on my shoulder, before her eyes slid up to meet mine again.

"how do you feel... physically?" she asked, but now she was hiding a smirk.

"um, what?" i asked, confused.

she  turned to me, still fighting a smile. "you aren't sore or anything?"

well, now that you bring it up, of course. i thought as i noticed a dull ache between my legs. in response to her question, i shrugged and flopped back down onto the bed.

billie giggled. "c'mon, lovebug, let's get dressed and find some food," she got off the bed and tugged gently at my arm.

i groaned. "wanna sleep more," i complained, rolling onto my stomach.

billie sighed and i felt the bed dip beside me as she sat down again. her hand rested on my back and her thumb rubbed it soothingly.

i sighed and relaxed, but it was broken by billie once again as she got up and yanked the blankets out from under me.

i squealed as i was dumped unceremoniously on the floor. i crossed my arms and glared up at her.

billie snickered, but otherwise ignored me as she went to the clothing drawers and threw a couple things at me.

i lifted up the massive t-shirt and shorts in confusion. "aren't these yours?"

she hums. "does it matter?" she smirks at me with a slight challenge in her eyes.

i shrug. "i guess not," i mumble and begin to change.

billie seems surprised as i strip down in front of her, her eyes wandering lower and lower, until i cut her off.

"go change, we're not doing anything today,"

she meets my eyes and flashes me that infuriating smirk again, stepping forward to rest her hands on my waist.
