Tessa wasn't send up to the maze regularly. The box was sent up 3 days earlier than it normally come up. She was put in the maze for the boys to find.
Minho is the one to do so. They bring her to the glade. She is the youngest amongst all the boys...

"PAIN IS INEVITABLE" Jansons voice echoed in Tessas head as she was hooked up to a machine on a table, wires attached onto her forehead and in a black tank top. doctors were traveling around her. Janson looked down on her. "But you have to be able to get through it" he gave her a cold look and Tessa grew confused at what that meant. "what your doing Tessa, it's going to help millions of people. its not clear weather you'll be here in the end in all of this...but if not you" Janson held a syringe "than the rest of us"
Tessa tried to move around to jump at Janson but she was electrocuted by the chair as she screamed in pain. "Your not... gonna get away with it" Tessa spoke as she felt herself getting more tired. Her veins got dark and her breathing got heavier, before she blacked out— the last thing she saw was Jansons evil smirk.
"Tessa" Ava Paige's voice made her open her eyes in complete darkness, the only light shining upon Ava Paige. Tessa stood up slowly and backed up slightly.
"I'm not gonna hurt you. I'm a doctor. your sick, Tessa." Ava Paige walked towards her slightly "you gave a wound. a terrible wound. and it's festering" as Ava Paige got closer Tessa started to back up but eventually fell onto a bed. (Dr Brenner tease😋)
"Do you remember what that means?" She asked. Tessa didn't reply "it means... a rot. And it will grow. Spread."
"Get out of my head" Tessa shook her head sideways and tried to stay calm as her heart rate got quicker "and eventually... it will kill you" Ava Paige's voice echoed in her head
"Get out of my head!!" Tessa screamed
Tessa screamed and thrashed her body on the table in pain as the doctors observed her, Teresa and Ava Paige watched behind a window.
"We're going to need a stronger dose"
Tessa walked passed a center testing with guards holding her arms. A girl sat on a black chair and Teresa sat beside her. Her veins were popping out and dark black, meaning she had the flare. She watched at Teresa took a large syringe in her hand and when she put it in the girls arm she squeamed slightly and after she put it down the girl calmed.
On the other side Janson and Ava Paige stood looking into the two girls who were talking with smiled on their faces. Tessa narrowed her eyes at the two and than started to hear them talking— making herself widen her eyes in surprise.
"you show a lot of compassion for someone who just open fired a crowd" Ava Paige told Janson
"You told me to do my job, I had a shot and took it"
"And missed, completely. Patrols never found a body. Thomas is still out there"
"What about her? Does she know?" Janson nodded towards Teresa
"No. She can't. I need her to stay focused. Elevate security systems around the city. I'm counting on you to handle this Janson"
The guard pulled on Tessas arm and she followed, making her way down the hall as she wiped the blood that had came from her nose.
Thomas was coming, and she'd be ready to get out.
