"I am comfortable with violence."

I crouched down on the floor, setting up what had to be the millionth mouse trap i'd put down.

The soft chatting and whispers in the classroom being the only sound heard in the school from where we all sat.

Being surrounded by my friends. Making teachers lives hell. One would think it would be bliss.

How wrong they were.

I was going to make Caroline pay for making me attend this. Along with quite literally dragging me from my house screaming.

My best friend had been pestering me about senior prank night for months and I had shot her down ever single time. After telling her for the millionth time that I would not be attending, I hade hopefully assumed that she would finally get the message.

She did not. I woke up in the dead of night to Caroline placing my shoes on my feet and dragging me from my bed by my ankles. It was safe to say it was not a pleasant uprising.

I had been to highschool more times than I cared to count, and not once had I ever wanted to go to one of these things.

I didn't even go to school now, had done it for a day and promptly unenrolled. As I should. That single day was hell on earth.

I softly grumbled obscenities as my steady hand set the final mouse strap on the floor, just barely missing the other traps by a hair.

The classroom was nearly set, meaning it was nearly time for me to leave. Thank god.

My head snapped up, my ears catching on a soft shuffle of shoes from the hallway. Slow steady steps, venturing through the school and nearing the classroom. Almost hesitantly slow.

Someone hit the light switch, and the classroom quickly became nothing more than darkness as people hid and crouched on the floor. Each of us quieting as we waited for whoever it was to pass.

The door opened with a soft creak, and on instinct I backed into a dark corner of the classroom away from sight.

I stood still, silently cursing myself for indulging Caroline in her escapades as I waiting for whoever it was to leave.
