"To be a star, you must burn."

I sat in that room for a long while after Klaus left, letting my thoughts run rampant.

Thinking—more like trying to convince myself that I hated Klaus. That it didn't matter what he said because he was still a bad person. My head knew that was right and true, but everything else me decided to disagree.

I stood from my place sitting in the parlor, placing my hands on my knees as I stood. Leisurely, I walked back through the Mikaelson mansion, I wasn't in a hurry. I didn't know what I would see when I entered the living room again, whether Elena was dead or alive. I steeled myself in preparation for both.

I paused just before turning the corner to the living room. I didn't know what to expect. Hesitantly, I walked in, greeted by the sight of a traditional male standoff.

I think my eyes were burning. Gross.

Klaus and Tyler stood in front of each other, their eyes locked and chests puffed. Wow, they're so tough and hot, holy crap I love the way they're both competing for alpha male status.

Said no one in the entire world.

I arched a brow, making a disgusted sound, a cringe evident on my face. "Ugh, I hate men." I said, walking into the room and toward the couch. Their heads turned to me as I plopped onto the comfy sofa, sipping from the drink I'd picked up from the kitchen on my way.

I spared the two an incredulous roof,  "The masculinity in this room is suffocating, tone it down a bit, macho man." I didn't care which I was talking to. Both of them got the message.

My message wasn't heard as the two turned back to each other.

A smirk curved Klaus's features, "So much for that sire bond"

I rolled my eyes, my head falling back on the couch in annoyance. My eyes wandered to Elena, she looked paler than before, her head drooping slightly as she lost the energy to hold it up.

It was a sorry sight. A pang of guilt rang through me, I felt bad. For my brothers, my friends, they would all suffer this loss. But it was what needed to be done.

"I'm not your little bitch anymore." Tiny Tyler growled as he stood straighter. I had the sudden urge to grab popcorn as watched what was about to go down.

A murderous smile replaced Klaus's smirk. A grin that promised violence.

Tyler was dead. So dead.

Something I couldn't let happen for my best friend's sake only. Caroline would be the one to suffer were Tyler to die.
