"I had to learn how to fight for myself."

"So you're saying you have a man tied up in the other room?" I asked Klaus with a roll of my eyes. "Kinky."

He glared at me. I glared right back. "He's a part of the five." he explained with a wave of his hand in the air. "A group of vampire hunters from the—"

"12th century." I finished, my curiosity peeking slightly. "I'm familiar."

"Smart and beautiful." Klaus smirked, leaning back in his chair.

"Classy." I scolded.

"As always."

Annoyed with his antics, I stood from my seat, walking toward the doors a few feet away from us where Klaus had said the hunter was tied up. My hands reached out for the handles of the double doors but I was stopped by a hand on my wrist. "Wait." Klaus said, narrowing his eyes before he looked toward the room as if there was something amiss inside.

I studied him for a moment before my hands hesitantly slid away from the door handles with a skeptical look. The hybrid stepped in front of me, grabbing the door handles just as I did before he pulled the door open dramatically.

God, he was so theatric.

Both of us stepped into the room and my eyes immediately caught on the man tied up in front of me. His hands were tied up in the air while his feet were strapped to the low end of the structure he was held to.

Creative.

Klaus walked toward him, going to his side as if he were about to interrogate him but there was a soft clank that interrupted him.

I wasn't surprised. I sensed him the second I entered the room.

"Looks like I'll have to beef up the hybrid security detail." Klaus said as he turned toward Stefan at the other end of the room.

I didn't. Stefan didn't deserve my attention. The hunter in front of me, however, was a different story. The original hybrid had said his name was Conner. Conner had been nothing but trouble since he came to town. Shooting Tyler Lockwood in front of the town, recruiting baby Gilbert to do his bidding, poisoning Rebekah, poisoning Elena.

"I was gonna take him," Stefan said, coming to stand at my side as I looked at the hunter. "But I figured you went through such trouble to truss him up in your red room of pain."

Planning or opportunity? Planning or opportunity. What a tough decision.

"It's from the inquisition." Klaus boasted proudly. "I thought it was a nice touch."
