"Welcome to my home." Rebekah stated as both of our heels clicked against the concrete of the walkway.
I'd been here once before, and I was just as stunned by it then as I was now. The structure. The color. I praised the architect. "It's lovely." I replied as I stared up at it.
We climbed the small set of steps leading to the dark oak double doors. They swung open of their own accord. We stepped in, not needing to be invited. I looked at the large crowd inside, a group of bustling people.
Two people approached with very fake smiles, they took each of our jackets and we allowed them. It was only when I looked back to the people in front of me that I realized all the eyes were on us. People looked.
As they should. We looked hot.
Rebekah leaned over, mumbling, "I'm going to go find Matt. I'll see you later?" I nodded in response before she walked off, lost to the crowd. I wandered, searching for any sort of alcohol to get me through the night.
I stopped walking for a moment as my eyes caught on something.
A pair of blue eyes connected with mine only milliseconds later, Klaus left the table he stood at. Not deigning to even say goodbye to the woman he was conversing with. I raised a brow as he approached me.
"Good evening." He said as he looked me up and down.
"Klaus." I stated, admiring his suit and how he—nope. Nada. Not gonna do that.
"Care for a drink?" He asked raising his brows in question.
I wouldn't allow myself to be caught up in his trap. "With you? Sounds like hell." I replied.
He smirked as I tried to walk past him, he grabbed my wrist turning me to face him. "Come on, Love." he insisted, "Humor me."
I scoffed turning my body to face him further as he still held onto my wrist. I took a breath. "Fine." I bit out, knowing he wouldn't stop until I agreed. Maybe I secretly wanted to a little, but I didn't obviously.
Klaus smirked as he held out his hand, I rolled my eyes as I put my hand in his. He grinned broadly as if it were an accomplishment.
He pulled my hand with him as he lead us over to one of the many people going around serving drinks. He grabbed one of the flute glasses from the silver platter and handed it to me, which I reluctantly took.
He raised his glass toward me before we each sipped from them.
He opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by a voice, "If everyone could gather, please." Elijah voiced from the top of the stairs. Klaus closed his mouth as his signature smirk took over.
