"People will never bleed enough to fulfill your vision of justice."

I'd just finished one of my books, and had nearly cried at the ending when I'd finally come downstairs in need of a drink. But, I sadly had terrible timing as I watched my twin open the door as soon as I'd reached the bottom of the staircase.

I ignored him obviously. He still hadn't apologized—or even acknowledged me since he'd put a fucking stake in my chest. I held grudges.

I entered the living room where Damon stood watching the fire. I went straight to the bar, pouring myself a glass of the good bourbon before I went and plopped on the couch.

"Well, you're still alive, so I assume that means Klaus didn't get his coffins." Stefan said as he and Damon faced each other.

"Well, don't look so happy. I was only able to get one of the out in time." Damon looked down, his eyes withholding. "The locked one."

"Probably a good choice." Stefan said, "So he got the rest?"

"Yup." Damon replied, popping the P. My eldest brother's eyes went to me for a moment before they wandered back to Stefan. "You know if you're banking on Bonnie's momma to open it up, she doesn't have any powers."

Stefan let out a breath, looking away as he sucked on a tooth. "Ah, doesn't surprise me. It's been that kind of night." I smiled at that.

Stefan turned around, going to head to his room when Damon spoke again. "Elena okay?" he questioned.

Stefan shook his head, storming back to Damon as he raised his arm and promptly punched him in the face. Damon groaned as his head swung to the side. I let out a laugh, hunching over myself. This is the kind of stuff that was entertaining.

My laugh devolved into a small smile. "Ouch, Dames. That had to hurt." I said, holding back another laugh.

"I take it you two had a heart to heart." My eldest brother said as he righted himself.

Oh, that had to be about the smoochy make-out sesh between Damon and Elena. She'd told me about it a few days ago, which was all fine and dandy until she went into detail, and I nearly threw up, having to remind her that he was my brother and all.

"And I take it you don't want to talk about it. Noted." Damon spoke as he reached behind his back. "Then why don't we talk about this?" He said, pulling a dagger from behind his back. I recognized it instantly.

"What the hell did you do Damon?" Stefan asked with a shocked expression. But I smiled.

This just got a whole lot more interesting.

Damon and I trudged through the woods, searching for a clearing that Elijah had told us to meet at. It was out there that I realized how pathetic I was, granted I spent most of my time hanging out with my brother.

"So you're the prime suspect, huh?" Damon spoke into the phone where our friends sat on the other side. Elena's fingerprints had been found on the murder weapon of Brian Walters, who Damon explained was Ric's girl Meredith's ex-boyfriend.

"She doesn't think that I did it." Elena said, referring to Liz. "She's just trying to find out why someone used one of my family's weapons to kill a council member." she explained in her Elena tone, there was no other way to describe it.

"How would someone steal one of your family's weapons?" I questioned.

Elena sighed, "No idea." Elena replied.

"Why don't we just ask Ric if his dirty little doctor had access to the weapons." Damon taunted.

"You're on speaker phone, dick." Alaric chimed in.

Damon scoffed, "I'm just saying, first suspect is usually the right one. Don't get so defensive."

"Brian Walters was killed days ago, all right? I didn't show Meredith this stuff until last night." Ric excused. A burst of noise came from the other side of the phone as someone did something.

"It wasn't Meredith." Elena agreed.

"But Brian Walters was her ex-boyfriend, and Ric saw them fighting that night." Damon said in a sing-song voice as he tried to prove his point further. This call was getting tedious, I mouthed to Damon the words 'hang up' he just smirked in reply.

"It's not Meredith, ok?" Elena exclaimed, "I refuse to believe that your luck with women is that tragic." I assumed she spoke to Alaric.

I tuned out of the conversation after that, not really feeling like listening to it any longer if all they were talking about was Ric's love life. I just sat there, looking at the trees as they began to thin out, telling me we were nearing our destination.

We came out of the woods, arriving at a large clearing where the grass had withered with fall. I looked over to Damon, "Hey, Lena! Sorry, but we need to go." I grabbed the phone from Damon's ear and clicked the end-call button before he or Elena could say anything.

I grinned at Elijah from across the clearing. "Elijah, my favorite original." I laughed.

He smiled one of his small Elijah smiles. "Lili, my favorite vampire."

Damon rolled his eyes beside me, he'd never like that Elijah and I were friends. "You clean up nice." Damon noted.

Elijah's small smile dropped into a vacant expression as he reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a small slip of paper. "You left something."

"Oh yeah." Damon drawled. "Dear Elijah, let's get together to plot the destruction of your brother."

"Xo, Xo, Damon." I mocked.

"Was I right to undagger you or are we gonna have a problem?" Damon questioned, looking Elijah up and down as he scrutinized him with his gaze.

"I'm here. Let's talk." Elijah appealed.

"Well, let's start with an easy question." Damon smiled, "Any idea what kind of Klaus killing weapon could be magically sealed in his mystery coffin?"
