Keith X Reader || Why do you see me?

Chapter 2

"That's.. incredible... I've never heard of the Skydiras before and those abilities are amazing." he tells you, his eyes fixed on yours, you can tell he's trying to figure out something.
You take a deep breath thinking about what you've already been thinking about for so many times over these past hundreds of years, yet it still hurts and talking about it with someone makes it.. become more present again.

Struggling, not really knowing how to talk about it, you begin
"That's because.. of what happened to us. There.. I've been invisible.. since.. and I haven't seen any other Skydiras.. since.."
"Hey, you dont have to tell me right now. just tell me whenever youre ready. I can only imagine that something.. very bad must've happened. " You lift your head up to look at him, thankful once again.

He looks at the sunset and says
"Maybe I should tell you who I am. I'm Keith..."
Wait, Keith? Surprised you ask
"Keith, the black, formerly red paladdin.. leader of Voltron.. who rescued the universe?"
"Yeah, I guess that's me.. You've heard of Voltron?"
"The whole universe has been at war for such a long time and you stopped it, of course I heard about you. Even though I was here, where I couldn't get to space I regularly went to the city to listen in on any reports on the war. No one could see me after all.
You guys are so amazing.. and now you just show up here. I'm honoured. Thank you do much for all you've done!" excited you say all of this. You've wanted to meet the amazing team behind Voltron ever since you heard about them.

Keith looks at you surprised, then he blushes and looks down at his hands, obviously flattered by your words.
"We're just simple people.. wanting peace for everyone. We're not that different from everyone else. We achieved what we did together. So you don't have to feel intimidated by us, by me. But thank you, it means a lot that we could bring happiness to so many people" Keith looks back up at your eyes and smiles while you do the same.

Then, looking at the sunset you ask him
"The war ended 2 years ago, what have you been up to since then?"
"Well.. do you know the Blade of Marmora?" Keith asks
"Yeah of course, they're amazing, they helped in the war too and by being Galra themself they proved everyone's prejudices about the Galra wrong."
He seems relieved by your response.
"I'm part of them. I'm actually half Galra, my mom and the former leader of the Blade of Mermora lead the Galra now."

He looks at you still a little worried. It must be because of how Zarkon, the former leader has been known for all the violence and suffering he brought over the universe. Keith might think you think badly about him because of that.
Assuring him you say
"Wow that's very cool, your mom must be incredible."
You smile at him.

More relieved he tells you
"She is. So you already know that the Blade of Marmora used to help transform the Galra.. Since after the war ended, for the past two years I've helped to transition us to a humanitarian relief organization. We go on missions to help people in need, providing them with supplies and other things they need, I'm actually on a mission right now."
That's amazing, you think.. What they do is really kind. Wait, he's on a mission right now?
"That's really kind of all of you, the people you help must be very glad and thankful to you."

After pausing for a short time and noticing him smile you ask "Do you have to get back? I'm not keeping you from any of your work am I? If I am I'm sorry you can.."
Keith interrupts you
"No, no don't worry about it, I still have time.. besides I just found out about someone who's not been seen for.. 600 years it was, right? Something like that doesn't happen.. often. I want to get to know you. I also want to help you if I can. And the fact that you have a wolf just like me, one I haven't seen anywhere else makes this even more interesting."

He puts his hand on yours.
You twitch. Looking at his hand
"Sorry.. I.." Keith starts to remove his hand
"No, no.. it's alright" you move your hand towards his again and slowly put it underneath his.

"I haven't been able to physically feel anyone else other then the wolf. This is.. kind of weirdly new to me.. but also really comforting. I realize how much I've missed.. just feeling someone else"
You look up at his face, hoping he understands and doesn't think you're a complete weirdo.
He looks at your hands, a little surprised, then at you and smiles
"Its ok. I'm glad I can help you" You both look back at the sunset, he carefully squeezes your hand in his saying
"I'm so glad I found you."

You feel yourself slightly blushing.. you really forgot what this is like, being next to someone, someone being.. so nice to you.
"I'm very glad you found me too." you reply.
Suddenly the black wolf teleports right behind you, you both get scared and turn around.

There you see both wolves look at you their heads turning as if they were wondering what's going on.
You laugh and reach out to pet the black wolf.
After smelling your hand shortly he puts his head underneath your hand and you pet him. Keith follows you and pets your white wolf.
"Looks like they like both of us" you tell him.
He smiles but then wonders
"Do you think the wolves have anything to do with me being able to see you?"

You remember that this could be your chance to finally be seen in the world again. To be able to help others. To really live in the world, not just on your own.
"Probably. Hey, let's go to my house. I have a book left in there that could give us some answers. Also.." You remember that he's here on a mission.. he won't have forever to stay here.

"And if it's okay with you, if you don't have to head back right now I want to tell you all about my past. I want you to know about it and maybe it can help us find some more anwers."
You stand up and he looks up at you, surprised and a little worried.
then Keith nods, and you both make your way to your house.
