Lucy asked with sincerity, Sam quickly ran stood up and whispered to Alan, "I thought you said they were suppose to glow?", "They are suppose to." Alan defended. "Y/n pass the mirror." Sam pointed to a table behind her that was nearby. A familiar reflective plastic circle that wrapped the mirror was seen and she hesitantly walked towards the table to pick it up.
"Thanks." Sam smiled at Y/n as she handed the mirror, though this was unnoticed with the current lighting. Sam then went besides Edgar to gesture him to open the lights as Sam positioned himself near to Max. Edgar opened the light and Max jumped at his reflection but soon later chuckled it off. "Sam!" Lucy scolded once more as she patted Max's back, "It's fine Lucy, let's continue the dinner." Max waved it off and everyone sat back down. The three boys were silent as they proceeded with dinner, hinting that they should discuss about it later. All of their trickes have been used up.
𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐁𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐘 as the boys stopped their attempts into trying to expose Max. "That was a great dinner." Max complimented as he and Lucy faced each other in front of the door. Y/n, Frog brothers, and Sam sat on the steps of the stairs as they witnessed the scene. "So what happens now?" Y/n questioned, "He's definitely suspicious." Edgar squinted his eyes then furrowed his eyebrows. "Me and Alan shall spy on him more after this." Edgar looked behind him to look at Y/n and Sam.
"I'll see you tomorrow." Lucy smiled as she opened the door for Max but as he was about to step out the blaring noise of rain and drizzle hit the ground. The rain was thick that it was visible even with the distance on where the four teenagers sat; even they jumped the the sudden weather change. "Oh dear." Lucy closed the door, "It seems like you have to stay here till the rain calms down." Lucy suggested and Max agreed, "Same goes for you three, you should stay in here till the rain simmers down, you wouldn't want to get a cold." Lucy walked towards the teenagers who sat on the first few steps on the stairs. "Yes Ma'am." Y/n replied and the brothers nodded then quickly turned to the blonde. "This is an opportunity for us to investigate more." Edgar suggested and fully faced his body towards the Emerson's direction.
"But how." Sam leaned in, "Working on it, for now we've got to focus on finding evidences, which means improvise." Edgar's face was stern and stiff as he explained the plan, Sam just nodded and began pondering about ideas and ways to squeeze evidence out of Max.
Lucy directed Max to the couch then walked towards the kids, "Do you need anything-" she was about to ask till all of the lights were cut off, "Oh dear." Lucy put both palms on her hips, "I'll go get candles, Sam go get flashlights." she ordered before apologizing to Max once more and dismissing herself. "This is our opportunity to stalk him, go get those flashlights." Edgar commanded Sam who just nodded and quickly went up the stairs. The Frog brothers leaned in to look at Max's silhoutte. As the thunder strikes they thought they saw Max with a scary yet mischevious grin so they leaned back, scard. "Definitely a vampire, did you see that?" Edgar leaned to Alan. "It's just the light playing tricks on you." Y/n manage to speak as her chin rested on her palm. "Easy for you to say, you didn't even see anything." Edgar defended himself, "Just look closely." Alan suggested but Y/n continued dazing away till it was shortly interrupted by both Lucy and Sam's footsteps.
"I'm back." Lucy hummed with two candles lit, and Max stood up to help her with one candle, meanwhile Sam went down with one big flash light and opened it. "Discovered anything?" Sam whispered as he leaned in closer to the Frog brothers, "Nothing." Alan answered as they didn't mention the grin they witnessed.
"It's getting cold here." Lucy rubbed her shoulders, "Here's a plan." Edgar quickly turned back to face everyone, "We offer to fix the lights by going to the backroom and pretend to fix the lights, then after that one of us will call out for assistance, and say we need Max to do the job instead and then trap him in the room and observe him, or even better interrogate."
Though it was dark everyone looked at each other and with the faint light from the flashlight that was on the floor facing up to the ceiling they started considering the plan.
𝐄𝐃𝐆𝐀𝐑 𝐅𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐀 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 as Lucy turned around and jumped, "Oh my, don't scare me like that." She chuckled but kept her palm resting on her upper chest as she held a candle with the other hand. Edgar then hit Y/n who was captivated by the fire on the candle that Lucy held. It was a gesture that she should say it, but she looked at everyone with a confused expression then scratched her head once again.
"Uhm, we were wondering if it was alright if we check out the electricity box thing." she spoke as she scratched her hair. "That's really dangerous I don't think you should check it out." Lucy replied softly, "Uhm, you see mom Y/n's dad is really good at these stuff so let her check it." Sam smiled as the brothers just nodded and Y/n just looked at Sam, "Y-yea- Yup." Y/n dangling on the tip of her toes. "Well if you say so, be careful though." Lucy was doubtful with her answered yet shrugged it off since she trusted the H/c girl.
The four of them then slowly and quietly walked to the backroom where the electric box was located. Sam flashed the light to every corner of the room to observe everything, "Edgar look at this." Alan called out and everyone saw that he opened a door to a vintage wooden dark closet that was bigger than all the teenagers, approximately 6 feet tall. "This is perfect, we don't need to observe him now, we can just shove him in the closet and ask him some questions." Edgar opened both doors of the closet and went in to check if it was safe.
Alan then closed the doors for Edgar to try inside, "Alright this is our plan." he spoke after he got out of the closet. "Help us move this." Alan gestured Sam and the blonde quickly looked for a place to place his flashlight down and quickly helped Alan move the closet near the electric box. "So Y/n would call for Max to help us, then we shove him in the closet, then we ask questions." Edgar explained and everyone nodded, "Why am I doing it?" Y/n scratched her hair once more, "Because you're the quote: professional." Alan teased which made Y/n's face turn into an expression as if she ate something sour. "Go." Edgar then prompted himself on the wall nearby the door.
"Uh, Lucy, we kinda need Max's help here if it's fine!" Y/n crossed hugged herself and called out. There were faint voices and footsteps. "Get ready." Edgar whispered to the two other boys as a silhoutte came in. Before the Silhoutte even got a chance to speak Edgar, Alan, and Sam push the Silhoutte to the closet. "We got him." Edgar spoke as he blocked the closet door with his body and muffled voices were heard in the closet as the door shook here and there. "Get the broom." Edgar looked at Y/n and gestured his head to the direction where the broom was. Y/n scratched her head as raised her eyebrows with a confused expression and picked up the broom and lazily handed it to Edgar, doubting the plan.
Edgar then slid the broom to the door knob handles of the door and stood back along with Edgar, Sam and his brother and with Y/n behind all of them.
