𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐂 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐄, "Edgar and Alan Frog are speaking" Edgar picked up the phone, "Uh" Sam looked behind him then whispered to his phone, "How do I know that my brother has the symptoms of a vampire" he nervously shifted  around and it was heard through the audio.

Edgar and Alan looked at each other before trying to shove both ears to the phone. "Does he sleep at day?" Edgar started the query, "Uh, well" Sam paused before trying to recall the times his brother has been awake during the day, "He's always tired every morning" he mentioned, his brother barely woke up in the mornings nowadays. Three days had gone by already his brother was acting rather odd and not himself. The other morning he tried to wake up his brother just for his brother to complain about the curtains and it being way to bright and staying up a bit more in bed than usual. His brother was always absent in the day but not because he was sleeping but because he was out for work or walking around the town doing something else.

"He wears glasses every morning" Sam added, "His nails? Is it longer than usual?" Alan continued questioning, "Sharper?" Edgar commented, "Yeah" Sam nodded profusely, "Test him like what we did, to Max" Edgar thugged the phone more to his side, with Alan loosing up his grip on the phone to let his brother get it. "What do you mean?" Sam questioned, "Garlic, and the mirror" Alan tried recalling the memory of them investigating Max during dinner.

Sam nervously clenched his phone as he looked around his house, "What do I do?" he whispered further, "Just protect yourself while you're there, we're going to go there to get you" Edgar stated rather confidently and reassuringly, "What if he gets me?" Sam questioned, "Then kill him" Edgar informed, "He's my brother" Sam scratched his head at the Frog brother's request, "It's either that you or him" Edgar added, "He's my brother" Sam repeated once more this time empathizing more on the word, "Just protect yourself for now, we'll try to convnince our folks to let us skip a shift to get there" Edgar reassured before the three of them hang up the phone.

Sam gulped before getting up, there was no doubt about it, he was nervous, since his brother was going to wake up any time now. Ever since this morning he was acting odd, it seemed like he couldn't get up from bed and wore glasses everywhere, his nails got sharper and it was somewhat making Sam suspect him of something.

Sam nervously shifted and took his dog upstairs to his room where he felt much safer. He covered himself with a blanket and closed all lights in his room with a singular flashlight on his hand as he flashed it towards his closet and towards his door, fearing on which one would open up. Nanook was besides Sam as he tried to pet his dog for comfort and reassurance.

The silence didn't help either, since the only thing Sam could hear was his heart beating loudly and his harsh breath, inhaling and exhaling rather aggressively consumed by fear. The more that nothing happens made it more intense.

In some way the Emerson brother tried to calm himself down, and tried to shake the feeling of  uncomfort because of the oddly quiet room.

He brought down his flashlight and furthermore buried himself on his blanket seeking comfort and warmth as he patiently waits on what will happen next. He tried considering to pick up a comic book and tried to make the feeling of fear go away by making himself busy, but before he could even reach his bedside table that was in front of a window a sudden hand appeared on the window pane making the blonde boy panic and get up from his bed, producing a chilling genuine scream as he stood back from his bed. Even his own dog got suprised and started barking at the shadow figure floating out of his window.

The blonde boy struggled to open up his flashlight but as soon as he opened it he feared for his life at the sight of his brother, looking rather different than usual. Pale with yellow red eyes and sharp teeth and claws that were digging on the glass. Sam continued screaming after seeing the state of his brother and quickly rushed towards to the bathroom, letting his dog go in first.

However instead of staying put with his dog in there he decided to go to the kitchen with one goal in mind; finding garlic to protect himself with. As long as he had garlic around him he would be fine. Yet as he looked down at the stairs to the first floor of his house he couldn't help but be scared at the fact that he was greeted by darkness. He knows deep inside his brother was outside but for all he knows, Michael would've gotten in at any moment now. Which caused the younger brother to be somewhat hesitant to go down at the dark first floor. But with no choice left he quickly went down the steps of his stairs and went to the kitchen to quickly open the light to feel somewhat safe as he looked for the shelf on where the garlics were.

As he looked at the top shelf with shaking sweaty hands he couldn't help but look at the window at his left, it was wide open with no curtains to filter the view. It made him nervous he was near a window since he could easily get grabbed, and as soon as he looked away another thud was heard and he looked to his left once again to see his brother looking somewhat normal now but asking for him to let him in.

Sam fell to the floor after seeing his brother once more, he crawled backwards with only four garlics on his hand. "Sam!" Michael called out as he banged on the window, "Get away from me!" Sam quickly picked up himself and ran upstairs with tripping most of the time, trying his best to be as fast as he can.

As soon as he reaches the bathroom he dropped all his garlic in there and slid down on the door as soon as he shut it. He tried to calm down himself once more, reassuring him that everything was alright now. He looked at his dog who was staring back at him and the two were silent.

But another figure blocked the light at the tiny window located above the bathroom. It was Michael, floating once again, Sam screamed and threw garlic on the window and even though he knew that it wouldn't do anything it was enough to make his brother flinch off the window as he took his time to grab Nanook, still screaming. This time he went back to his room making his dog go in again as he tried to grab his blanket to cover one of his window and swiftly went to his closet to look for another piece of fabric big enough to cover his window.

As he shuffled around his closet he heard another thud again behind him and the mumbled voice of the brunette, "Sam let me in! I won't hurt you!" Michael begged with a genuine tone. "Sam I'm serious" Michael cried, "No if I let you in you're gonna take my blood and kill me" Sam blabbered lifting both hands to make a cross with his fingers, "My own brother is gonna kill me!" Sam panicked and Michael tried shushing him, "Sh, calm down okay? Just let me in." the brunette brother somewhat lowered himself and relaxed his tensed shoulders to prove Sam that he was calm and in control. "How do I know you won't kill me if I go in?" Sam slowly tried approaching the only window left in his room that wasn't covered by any form of fabric.

"Come on Sam, you're my brother why would I do that?" Michael had an irritated look on his face because of his brother's overreaction and fantsies, "I'm in control okay?" he added as another form of evidence to persuade his brother to let him in. Sam as well calm his tensed shoulders and approached his brother, knowing that this was still his brother, why would he do that?

"Alright" Sam opened the window slowly, with Michael desperate to go in from the cold since he only wore a long sleeve that stopped on his elbows and simple pants with his socks, indicating he was in the house the whole day and didn't leave the location.

𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐑𝐔𝐍𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄 𝐁𝐎𝐘 𝐆𝐎𝐓 𝐈𝐍 𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐁𝐘 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐓𝐇, Sam opened the lights of his room and took down his blanket that covered his window, "What's happening to me?" Michael asked confused, "Do you not know?" Sam whispered back, "What do mean?" his brother went closer to him, "You're a vampire! My own brother, a vampire! Out of all the people, can you believe this?" Sam stretched his hands up like an upset mother figuring out her son did something that got him in deep trouble.

"What do you mean?" Michael put both of his hands on the side of his hip and leaned to his left a little more, "You have symptoms of a vampire" Sam went closer to his brother who towered him.

Michael looked at him in disbelief, after all he couldn't just deny what his brother said and excuse the fact he couldn't pick himself up in the morning and that he started randomly floating as soon as he woke up, and that he lost his sense of control when he smelled blood in the house. There was no denying that he is a vampire.

Before any of the brothers could say another word to each other they heard a sound of a door shutting harshly on the first floor. The two got scared at the sudden quiet entrance of who ever opened the door, it surely wasn't their mother because she would be calling out for the two of them. So the two slowly opened the door of Sam's room and peaked at the hallway to the stairs.
