Though the silence was interrupted with a quiet knock on a solid object, the noise was enough to bother Y/n to wake up and adjust her blurry vision.
The only light that emitted on her room was from the outside post that was nearby her home through her window, but even that light was being slightly blocked by a sitting figure which made the teenager panic and move back her pillow for causing it to fall down on her; with her vision still trying to process everything she quickly grabbed a pillow and ran away from the pillow stacked she found herself in and quickly aimed at the window causing the mysterious figure to stand back from the window out of surprise. The silhouette had a quick yelp due to almost falling down the steep rooftop, "Edgar?" The S/n girl rubbed her eyes as she clenched onto the pillow she held, "Yes!" he spoke frantically with his fingers tugging the small space on the window, fearing he would fall.
Without a word the girl quickly opened the window to quickly grab him from outside her roof to indoors but this caused the two of them to trip over with Edgar finding himself on top of Y/n and with the girl hitting her back on the hard floor.
The two groaned at the impact, "What were you doing at my window?" Y/n had her eyes closed as she felt the aching pain from her back which brought Edgar to notice their position and took the opportunity to swifty get off and stand up staring at the girl in pain, "Well, we need to talk about something." He coughed before speaking, "About what?" she questioned, "The last boy in Ken's group" Edgar continued, "Okay what about the last boy in Ken's group?" she prompted her position into a sitting position to feel more comfortable.
"We're running out of time that's what I mean, he might become a full vampire if we don't do anything about it right now." he paused trying to catch his breath from explain hastily, "And you're the only one who knows how he looks like so we need to scout the whole boardwalk tonight." this made Y/n think about it for a second before nodding to him not asking anymore questions, after all they were running out of time. If they take weeks to find the boy then he would've become a permanent vampire at that point which would be a burden for him and for the upcoming victims he'll chew on.𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐖𝐎 𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐄𝐓𝐋𝐘 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐎𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊, Edgar had his usual furrowed look as he looked around with tense shoulders; being alert with his surroundings. Y/n on the other hand was the opposite of Edgar, she looked tired and looked like she was longing to have more sleep as her eyes were shutting down every second and with her vigorously trying her best to keep it open.
She hugged herself without noticing or thinking twice, it was mere muscle memory that she hugged herself after feeling the breeze touch her skin; Edgar noticed her action and took off his denim jacket to be wrapped around her, leaving him to reveal a dark green faded brand shirt. This caused the other teenager to lift her head up and look at Edgar with a confused gaze, "Aren't you going to get cold?" she questioned quietly, "Just take it."Edgar spoke with his deep voice. His body movements were indicating that he wanted to say something yet he was hesitant, Y/n seemed to notice this and waited for him to gather the courage to say it, not wanting him to seem like she was forcing him to say what he wanted to say. "You know when a guy offers you things you should accept it with no hesitantion." Edgar spoke in a deep tone and squinted eyes as he eyed the girl, she looked back him with an understanding look then backed up with a smile.
"Sorry." Edgar spoke in a rather low tone which caused Y/n to be more curious on what he was going to say further, "About waking you up" he continued which made Y/n smile, "Mmm", she reponded and looked at the distance; at the road they had to walk before reaching their destination. "don't worry about it." Y/n started slowly dangling side to side as they walk, "How was your day?" the teenager questioned gesturing that the four friends didn't get to meet up today. "It was okay I guess" Edgar responded, his shoulder seemed to relax, "Where's Alan anyways? It's just us?" she questioned, "Yeah, he's tired." he had a somber look but tried his best to hid it.
The girl pondered if they got into another argument with the sour expression on Edgar about the topic of his brother, "Anything bad happened?" she hesitated asking the question not wanting to get involved in a fight that was between brothers. "He just wanted to hangout with them more." Edgar spoke nonchalantly yet a hint of irritation. "Give it a try." she reassured him which made him look at her with a confused glare, "Like, hangout with them or leaving him be?" Edgar questioned, "Try both?" Y/n questioend it as well, she too wasn't good when it gets to giving advice, "If you hangout with them and don't like the way you act you can try just leaving him.", "The latter is harder, I'm scared he's hanging out with the wrong crowd." Edgar's voice was softer, deep inside he never feared his brother hanging out the wrong crowd because he would be there for his brother; he was afraid to let his brother go.
With no words left to exchange and Y/n not being able to come up with an answer all she did was give him a reassuring smile. "Where's Sam? Is he not coming either?" Y/n brought up after it went quiet; "I don't know where he is honestly, but we dont have time to pick him up." Edgar explained, with that the girl didn't further question the boy and let the silence soothe the two teenagers.
