𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐘/𝐍 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐅𝐋𝐘𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐍𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐁𝐎𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊, 𝐄𝐃𝐆𝐀𝐑 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐍 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐘'𝐒 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄 it was night time. Edgar didn't do much the whole day then stood behind Alan, Jared, and Molly, following them like a pray; when he had the opportunity to talk to Alan he took that opportunity as the cousins are distracted. Though mostly those opportunities lasted quick and Edgar would be left back in the group talking to no one, nonetheless just listening to the conversation of his brother and his newly formed group.

And after a productive day of walking and going from place to place the two Frog brothers stayed in Molly's house. Molly was cooking for everyone, Jared and Alan were having a conversation on the dining table as Edgar was outside of the  house yet in sight of the table where his brother and the other teenager sat.

Edgar's toes were touching the blue clear waters, with his pants rolled up mid-way to his knees. He looked behind him to see the glass door to reveal Molly still cooking yet talking to the two other boys.

He swiftly turned back and rested his elbow on his thigh as his chin rested on his palm. He stared at the steady flow of the water with thoughts in his head. From time to time he would slightly move his feet which caused the water to  move to the direction where he kicked. His mind consisted of him thinking about Alan's new friends. He didn't trust these new people to be alone with her brother, all his life his brother was his bestfriend, so it was hard that his brother is starting to feel more open and comfortable to random strangers.

Not only that but his brother wasn't a social butterfly, he barely got any friends nor is too shy to open up to people, out of the brothers the one to most likely socialize for kids their age is probably Edgar, not Alan.

Hence why from the start it was a new experience towards Edgar that Alan was opening up to people and slowly distancing himself away from his own brother. "Hey" a voice perked up which was enough to make Edgar flinch out of his daydreaming state and turned behind him to see a pair of legs. It belonged to Molly.

Her brunette hair was now resting upon her shoulders and was for once not tied into a ponytail. "You alright?" she chuckled as she held something with both of her hands, "Food?" she gestured to the cupped bowl on her palms, "Thanks" Edgar put on his deep voice as he reached for the food. "What's up?" she questioned, she too didn't have shoes so she immediately put the tip of her toes towards the water; testing the temperature. "It's warm" Edgar commented indicating the water she was afraid to touch.

She smiled towards the Frog brother before fully dipping two of her toes in, wiggling he toes trying to adjust into the different temperature. "Is it good?" Molly questioned Edgar to which he turned to her with furrowed eyebrows as he proceeded chewing. "I guess" he pretended to act coldy. Molly proceeded to giggle, "Whats so funny?" the Frog brother manage to say as he munches on his meal.

"Nothing." the brunette continued kicking her toes in the body of water, "Hey, if you feel afraid that Alan would stay away from you because of us, don't worry, he'll always priority his brother." The girl paused, "And you could always join us" Edgar turned to the girl getting confused on how she knew all of those information, "How'd you know?" he furrowed his eyebrows further then ceased his eating. "He seems that type of guy, you know? He seems like a family-orientated person that's why" The girl responded indicating about how she explained that Alan would never pick them over his brother.

Dodging the question seemed suspicious in Edgars part though he couldn't just assumed that she was trying to buy some time to ignore the question; for all he knows she could just be genuinely confused on his vague question.

"Wanna swim?" Molly probed, "I'm eating", "After you eat of course, silly" she giggled, "If I swim after I just ate I will get a stomach ache" he slowly leaned towards her with his glare, "It's not like you're gonna move around too much, just like sitting around like a sauna or something" she explained, "I don't have clothes" Edgar finished his meal, "Jared has spares" The girl smiled.

"You just seem like you need to relax a bit. Nothing's better than swimming to ease the tension." the girl explained,  the Frog brother was about to open his mouth; though was quickly pushed into the water, "What the hell!" his voice cracked as he swam back up to look at the girl, "Calm down" she snickered before slowly getting in the pool even though she had normal clothes. "Do you know what a 30 minute rule is?" his voice went back to it being deep and in a more quiet tone.

The girl responded with a chuckle, "A rule where you're not suppose to swim or do anything after you eat" he squinted his eyes as he and the girl began circling each other. The girl was looking at him as he explained, "You probably don't even read comics" he squinted his eyes but continued going around in circles slowly.

"Calm down, I do know what it means, I don't need comics to know the 30 minute eating rule" the girl laughed but this made Edgar confused, "I never said comics taught me the 30 minute rule" he stopped swimming around and floated in his position.

"It's called a deduction, if you read comics I'm pretty sure you know what that word means" she rolled her eyes along with a snicker, "I know what deduction means" Edgar retorted, "It doesn't take a comic book to know that either" he mumbled quietly, "Swimming in night time is calming right?" Molly giggled, "Told you so" she rolled her eyes after receiving no response from Edgar; knowing she was correct from the start.

"Edgar continued swimming back to the lower parts of the pool to sit on the steps of the stairs, yet half of his body is in water, "Already finished?" Molly inquired as she sat besides her, "No, I need to sit down before swimming" Edgar murmured but Molly just smiled and swam besides Edgar, "I'm not bad right?" Molly brought up.

"What do you mean?" Edgar's voice softened, "I mean. I'm not bad to hangout with right?" she started waddling her toes in the water once more as she waited for a response. Edgar didn't reply and looked away, he hated admitting he was wrong.

The two awkwardly sat in silence, with the two trying to come up with words to exchange to stop the uncomfortable peace. "Do your parents not come home at all?" Edgar looked back inside the glass door that leads to the kitchen.

He saw Edgar and Jared having a solemn and quiet conversation amongst themselves; "No. They don't care anyways" Molly looked at the same direction on where the brother was looking at, "Jared's parents are also workaholics so we mostly spend our time together along with other guys I guess" she continued before looking back to the motionless waters.

"How about your parents?" Molly looked back up to look at Edgar only for him to continue looking at his brother, enjoying his quiet talk with Jared. "They're busy" Edgar replied nonchalantly, undisturbed.

"Sometimes me and my brother would cover up for our folks" his raspy voice perked up after a quick pause, "mmm" Molly hummed and continued tapping the water, "Do you still hangout with your folks?" she questioned. Though Edgar took a minute before replying, "No" he replied rather dryly. "Family issues as well?" Molly tilted her head once more albeit she was now looking at the skies than the Frog brother.

"No" Edgar looked back at the girl; the feeling of being watched immediately made the girl lift her head down and look back at Edgar, "Our families are alright." Edgar looked back at the solemn waters; the girl stopped waddling her feet once more.

"No one has family problems, except for Y/n" Edgar explained though Molly said Y/n's name in unison when the brother stated. His eyebrows raised up surprise that Molly knew Y/n's name in the first place. "So I've heard" Molly whispered as she slowly nodded away. "What's wrong?" Edgar inquired as he noticed the teenage girl's uneasiness. "Nothing" she gave a somber smile, "She seems like a nice girl, better than me I guess" she rolled her eyes yet smiled to herself. "What do you mean?" Edgar's voice softened.

"She's better than me Edgar, that's what I mean" she turned around fully facing the brother this time; with the water slightly moving, "You shouldn't think about that, she's great and all but you're not her and you don't need to be her" Edgar replied rather harshly, "And everyone is unique in their own way, and sometimes it's better that way, unique is good" he started comforting but rather than giving a reasurring tone it sounds more of a scolding tone.

Albeit Molly didn't take the sound of his voice personally but instead found meaning through the words he spoke. "You think so?" she beamed in happiness, "Well, yeah. You don't need to be someone else to impress others" Edgar added before playing with the water with both hands. "You're really kind Edgar" Molly complimented, "You should know that" the girl continued nodding her head, "You're wise as well"

"And even though you don't trust me you still remained kind, I like that" Molly sits closer to Edgar. The two stare at each other for awhile, with Edgar feeling his stomach going light and filled up with butterflies, what was this feeling? The same feeling he felt when he shared the kiss with Y/n
