As a police officer, it was your job to take down villains. You had never wanted to be a hero in the traditional sense; you actually enjoyed saving others and helping in times of need but you despised the flashiness, fame, and financial rewards that being a hero offered. You wanted to be a real hero, one who worked out of the spotlight. This was the reason you joined the police force-- to be a true hero.

When you first encountered the villain Stain, you were determined to take him down and he felt the same. However, once you learned his ideals, you realised how righteous his crusade was. Heroes-- real ones-- didn't act the way that was mainstreamed. You felt seen for once in your life when you met him. Your feelings no longer felt wrong, but reasonable. Stain and you joined forces, you giving the routes of heroes' patrols and him getting your cause heard. He then introduced you to the League of Villains, where you met Shigaraki Tomura. He seemed childish and a bit like a ticking time bomb but you knew he was playing for the long game ahead of you all. For this reason, you respected him enough.

When Stain went rogue, you were left torn between your initial ideals and the new friend you had made in Shigaraki. Unfortunately, Stain was killed and the choice was made for you. What was unbeknownst to you was that Stain had outed you before he died. Not only had he revealed your betrayal to the police force, but he had revealed your quirk as well. Your quirk was plant manipulation, you could manipulate any plant to your will.

With your true intentions outed, you were quickly targeted by both police and heroes alike. You had run fast and far-- but not far enough.

"Tomura-chan, I can't make it to the meeting spot, I've been surrounded." You sadly spoke into the phone.

"Yes you can, you've got to use your quirk!" He argued with you, like usual. However, this time was different, he was arguing out of desperation and nothing else.

"They hit me, I don't think I'll make it." You shake your head sadly despite him not being able to see your face.

"Yes, you will! Where are you? We can come to rescue you." He instantly enters a frantic state.

"I don't know, besides I'm afraid you won't make it in time." You smile sadly as a gunshot sounds in the distance.

"Yes, we will! Stop thinking this is the end." He growls at you. His concern touches your heart and you can no longer hold back your feelings. Your eyes fill with an unmistakable sadness.

A bright light fills the room you're hiding out in, making you curse. You push yourself closer to the back wall. A quick glance to your left reveals a small succulent. A desperate idea forms and you throw it out the window where the police were at before you make it shoot out its spines. The screams below make you smile as you realise your desperation did something.

"Y/n! Please... Just hold on." Tomura's voice cracks.

"I'm not going down without a fight." You clutch your injured leg, pulling it closer to your body.

You failed to see the red spot on your chest, aiming for your vital organs. When you did, it was too late. You gasped in pain, falling to the floor. Your hand was still holding the phone where Tomura was frantic.

"Y/n, answer me! Please!" He yelled. You glanced down at the noisy device and pulled it to your face.

"Tomura-chan, I'm sorry but I won't make it to dinner." You cough, blood covering your bruised body.

"You can't leave me! You don't get to leave like everyone else did! I didn't even get to tell you how I felt! It's not fair!" He yelled, tears running down his own face. You could picture his chapped lips bleeding from the force of his tone, his eyes swollen more than usual. This imagery made you sad, and you closed your eyes to prevent your own tears from falling. The tantrum he was throwing was justified and you couldn't scold him if you tried.

"You may have been the villain to so many others, but to me, you were my hero, Tomura-chan." You smile sadly, the tears escaping your closed eyes. Your throat felt swollen and like you couldn't breathe.

"Please, y/n, I...." He sobbed, unable to finish his sentence

"I promise I'll wait for you to join me, so take your time." You wheezed as blood filled your lungs.

"No, y/n-" He was cut off by you hanging up the phone. You put it down beside you and stared out at the broken ceiling. The stars called out to you, wanting your soul.

The body is separate from the soul, this was something you understood. With your body dead, the part of you that was an animal had been killed, only your soul remained. Your spirit would be able to live on and fulfil your promise to Tomura-- you would wait for him.

The boy who never learned to love had finally done it, he loved again. He loved you but you had been taken away from him. It seemed fate was most cruel to him. The cruellest part though was that he never confessed his love to you, and you never confessed to him.
