Chapter twenty-five

Hiraeth pov

I watch as Namia pushes David out of the way and continues to point her gun at the captain. I look at the captain and say
"How did you find us?"
Captain smirks and says
"We had a little envoy"
I look at the terrified people who are holding on to each other. I look closely to see a native who is collecting money from some soldiers as I say loud enough for him to hear me
"No need to collect that money, God knows you won't live enough to use it"
As soon as I say that, I raise my hand and the earth swallows him leaving only his hands grasping for life as proof of his existence. As soon as I do that, the captain tries to shoot at me but I command the wind to turn the bullet back to him, it hits him the chest as I watch his face turn pale. He gets on his knees as he breaths his last breath, once he lays on the floor dead, a shootout happens. I feel Xerxes tug me over to him as he says
"You take the left, I take the right"
I nod and he gives me a quick kiss before getting up and making a huge energy ball. He pushes it towards some of Cain's soldiers and their whole body starts to shake as their flesh quickly burns to ash. I get up and form a tornado that gets bigger and bigger in size. Once it's big enough, I throw it towards a dozen of guards and watch as the tornado picks them up and throws them miles away where they are surely dead. I look to my left to see Namia fighting guards with her combat training, I'm not surprised, she is an assasin after all. I see David shooting at some guards while running to a big truck. I take out my kitana and wave it around a soldier's throat, watching as the blood oozes out of his throat. The truck David and packs the essential documents that he left on the table while we continue to fight until every one of the soldiers are finally dead. Once they are, I approach Xerxes who is surrounded by lifeless bodies. He looks at me and holds my head looking for any scars or bruises while saying
"Baby are you ok?"
I nod and hold his arms while saying
"Are you?"
He nods and plants a passionate kiss that takes all my breath away. Once he lets me go, I tell him
"We need to leave, go to Greece or else something like this will happen again."
He nods and we walk towards the elders. I say
"Imu, Ni'alla, Imani, Santo and Mi'lano."
They look at me and bow a bit in signs of respect even though I told them it wasn't necessary. I say
"We need to leave now, I wish we could stay but we would be endangering you all."
Imu looks down sadly and says
"I understand, you must complete the prophecy"
Xerxes says
"Dont worry, before we leave, I'll put an barrier. No one who isn't a part of this tribe will be able to enter"
The elder nods and David yells
"Guys, get in the truck, we need to leave"
I feel tears build up in my eyes. I knew that I would be able to stay here forever but I have become quite fond of these people, of the elders. Mi'lano sees me crying and comes up to me. She engulfs me in a hug and whispers
"Don't cry, this is necessary. You must complete the prophecy"
I nod and sniffle my runny nose while saying
"Your right but I will miss you all."
She smiles and says
"So will we"
I give her and the other elders a sad smile as I regain my composure. I say
"Thank you for allowing us to stay and treating us so well. I will never forget any of you"
They smile and nod. Xerxes says
"Yes, I am also very thankful, we will visit you all whenever we can."
We say our goodbyes and get in the truck. Namia had time to take our belongings from the temple. Miza sits next to me and Noal as she says
"So what's the plan?"
I smile and say
"We go to Greece to meet David's friend"
David says
"Don't worry Miza, she is a very kind woman"
Miza smiles until all of a sudden, I start to see black dots cover my vision. My vision suddenly leaves me as I hear a faint whisper
Hiraeth
I look around and whisper
"Miza? Niama?"
No dear, You don't know me yet but I know a lot more about you.
I say terrified as I feel my breath become even more coarse
"What is happening to me? What do you want from me?"
Protect him, love my son
I scoff and say
"Xerxes doesn't have a mother, she dissapear..."
She giggles as she says softly
Yes. She disappeared indeed, I should know. Your connection has been unlocked, good. The prophecy is finally becoming true.
I say
"Yes"
She says
Listen quickly. Go to the planet Liburu or scientifically known as K2-18b
I nod and say
"Very well then, K2-18b"
I blink a few times to see my vision get back to normal. As I finally regain all my vision back, I find Xerxes looking down at me. He caresses my cheek and whispers
"Hey"
I look at him and smile shyly. He says
"You ok? You seemed fine earlier and you just suddenly fainted"
I look at him and say
"How long have I been out?"
He says
"Two hours thirty minutes"
I look at him shocked as say
"It felt like I only talked to her for two minutes"
He looks at me confused and pulls my arms up to a standing position before saying
"Who?"
I take a deep breath before saying this, I know he probably isn't ready for this but I need to tell him
"Your mother"
