Chapter thirty-two

Xerxes pov

Our examination is over, they passed a few tests on us, took some blood, had us prove our powers etc.. We are now sitting in the dining hall eating some canned beans with a bit of bread. I look at Hiraeth as she twirls with the food
"Do you not like it?"
I ask in a joking manner. I already know she hates the food, if she liked it, the plate would be empty by now. She looks at me and her lips tighten in a joking manner as well. She says
"It has no flavour"
I laugh and she continues
"What I would do for a bit of Salt"
I grin and say
"Well try to eat up, you will need your strength. God knows what further tests they might want to do on us."
She nods
"You're right. I will. You should do the same..."
She says, pointing at my plate full on canned beans. I laugh and so does she. Suddenly, we hear some shooting outside of the cafeteria. We look towards the door and see it swing wide open. Guns are immediately being shot as everyone takes cover. I grab Hiraeth and pull her under the table. She looks at me frantically and asks
"They found us. How?"
I look at them and use some Ergo-Telekinesis on some of the soldiers which causes them to rise from the ground, tremble and eventually for their flesh to be ripped off in half. I look over at Hiraeth to see that she is using her air manipulations powers to take the soldiers guns and use it against them. Once they are dead, she looks over to me and says
"We need to leave. Cain has more then enough devices to use against us."
I nod and we get up and look at David and Naomi fighting some soldiers off until they eventually die. I look at them and say
"We need to go to the spaceship. More soldier s are coming"
Hiraeth nods and uses her Air telekinesis to push some chairs over the door in an attempt to barricade the entrance. She looks at me and I nod. We make a run for it all the way to the spaceship to find Cain and Chaolin standing Side by side with a dozen of guards.
"Chaolin? Why?"
David asks her surprised and betrayed. She glared at him and says
"I should be asking you that. Why her? I waited for you for years and you broke my heart. And for who? This bitch?!"
She says as she points at Noami. Noami rolls her eyes as she states
"Can we just kill her instead of just standing here?!"
David says
"I trusted you. Yes maybe I didn't have the same feelings but I held you close to heart. Now with your betrayal, you find yourself in a worst position then before...."
She smirks and says
"Is that so?"
As soon as she finishes her sentence. She starts to chock and her eyes go wide. He hands desperately cling to her neck in a failed attempt to catch a breath. I look at Hiraeth and she says
"Yes, it is"
She walks forward as the guards point their guns at her and she says
"You should have humbled down. If you had been loyal, even though you were rejected by your crush, you would have lived. Now not only have you been rejected, but your also going to die."
As soon as she finishes talking, Hiraeth cracks her neck causing her to die. They start shooting at Hiraeth but I stop the blow the bullets by teaching towards their core wndbsetting it aflame. Cain looks at Hiraeth and says
Hiraeth, dear, come on now, stop this nonsense end come with me"
She says
"And why would I do that?"
He looks at her shocked and says
"You have known me for years, but you choose to follow a man you don't even know?!"
She looks at him and says
"You say that likes it's something to be proud of, you forget that you spent those years torturing me...."
"Examining you"
He interrupts. Hiraeth says
"Xerxes...."
I look at her and say
"Yes love"
She says softly
"Start the machine"
I nod and go to the spaceship. I feel energy form through my fingertips and put my hands on the machine."
I feel a gun pointed at my head as I look around to see guards pointing their guns army Hiraeth. Guess they made it. Hiraeth growls as she turns into a small wind tornado and kills all the guards. I do the same yet turn into an energy ball to kill more guards. The others are just sitting waiting for us to finish. When we do, only Cain remains, we turn towards him as Hiraeth pulls out a knife and stabs him repeatedly. She could have used her powers but I guess she wanted to let out some steam. He fights back which makes me step over and cut his head off with one of the machetes laying in the room. I takes his head in my hands and spit on it before throwing it on the ground. Hiraeth nods and says
"Let's go"
The machine starts rumbling and I look at Noami, David, Noal and Miza who take it as a signal to get into the spaceship. Hiraeth and I do the same and we look at a bunch of weird ancient buttons. I say
"How the hell?!"
Miza says
"That one"
She points towards the brown button on the left of me and I look at her shocked. She smirks and says
"Had a vision"
