Chapter thirty-four

Xerxes pov

We start to walk into the city to see that though the cities are upside down, there are many markets and merchants that operate on the sand. Almost reminds me of an Arab market. We start walking end I can't help but look up at the city life that is right above us. The girl starts talking
"The history of our world is a complicated one. We started thousands if not millions of years ago. This place started as a rogue camp for the thousands of fallen angels fallen out of heaven. They wandered this plant for years begging for forgiveness for hundreds of years until they finally understood that God had no intention of forgiving them. Once they realized that, they started building. It wasn't that hard for them to start building advanced objects and houses since they already had knowledge from their old home. Eventually they appointed a ruler over them. Our king, RESMODEUXES, he was the cruelest of all the original demons. One day, they realized that since they no longer had anything to lose, what stopped them from doing whatever they wanted? So they took they found ways to get humanity to sacrifice their daughters and would kidnap human girl souls and force them to be slaves. This went on and eventually that is how met and fell in love with our Queen. But since then things haven't changed for the rest of the kingdom. Human girls are still kidnapped and used as slaves in this kingdom would be, if only the slavery here was as kind as the humans used to commit it. There is a rumour, that the Queen made a bastard child with a human, one that would come and overthrow the Cruel King and free us from his tyranny."
Hiraeth asks
"Are the rumours true?"
She shrugs and says
"No one knows, this supposed child has never been seen"
Hiraeth says
"Wait!"
She looks at Hiraeth and Hiraeth says
"Is there a way you can get us into this palace?"
The girl says
"Oh no way, it's strictly prohibited"
I say
"But not to you though, based on the crest mark you have on your forehead which resembles the flags I have been seeing at every corner of the street, I would at you have special access. So bring us there"
She sighs and says
"What do I get in return?"
Hiraeth scoffs and the things in the room start to shake. She looks up at the girl
"How about your life?"

Later

We make our way in front of gates made of gold and decorated with a snake as red and as vivid as the color of blood swirled on the middle of the gates keeping them connected to each other. "It's real"

The alien girl states, I look at her and silently nods. The girl takes out a badge with foreign writing written on it and with the same snake crest above it. The doors open and we enter to see a city filled with darkness around it, It seems that the light that was outside of these gates has left us, almost as if it were nothing but a pretty illusion for those who wander outside of these walls, luring them towards these exact same gates. The advanced architecture has also drastically changed, the once glorious and advanced buildings we saw from the outside have changed to become gloomy and dark as the air that surrounded them, there was almost something horrific from them, as if they were made with the terror of the souls haunted in this place.

"Once we enter the inner city, don't look anyone in the eye, or speak to any of them. None of the people here and human and they rejoice at causing you pain if they realize what you are"

We all nod in the group and the alien girl tells us to stay here while she goes to get something from what looks like an abandoned marketplace, she comes out with pitch black jackets that can cover us from head to toes and hands each and every single one out to us. We cover ourselves with them and she says,

"remember what I told you, and just to add to that point, whatever you see in there, don't scream"

I look at her and ask,

"Wait, what is your name?"

She looks at me and says

"Magnifa"

Once we approach what seems to be the inner gates, the doors automatically open to reveal all sorts of horrors. We come across one woman having needles inserted inside of her eyes while the rest of her body was already been inserted with thousands of needles, I turn away in sadness for her, knowing that she must suffer because i cannot help her at the moment, especially considering the fact that we are surrounded by thousands of demons. We keep walking and look at other women being tormented in the streets as they are being raped, whipped and tortured. We keep walking until we finally reach what seems to be a palace, we enter and Magnifa goes to speak to a what seems to be demon soldiers, they escort us into a throne room which is a long rectangular room with the small golden seats on both sides perfectly facing each other. At the end of the throne room, is a thrones larger then the rest with it being made of bones instead of gold like the rest. The throneroom opens to reveal dozens of other guards with Magnifa walking in front of them, she points to us and the guards walk towards us and grab us. They shove us to the ground and Magnifa is seen talking to a guard and this guard extends his hands to reveal a bag of some sort of metallic currency inside and drops it in Magnifa's hand. She accepts it and looks at us and smirks.
My eyes widen and I say
"You...."
She says
"You should have stayed on earth"
She turns back and walks away.
