Cecilia pov
We were all laughing when suddenly this girl with short dark hair and pale skin tone called out Alec's name. Something told me she was sick, she didn't really look that lively as well.

"Alice! Can you come and take your boxes in your room please," someone yelled from the distance. That girl didn't move an inch nor responded back. The group was frozen and stiff like ice. Am I the only one who's confused?

The person who yelled from the distance started walking to our direction. "Alice I called you why aren't you responding?" the middle aged looking woman then noticed our group.

"Oh Alec," she looked disappointed no rather annoyed? "Why don't you help us Alec? Be a dear and move the boxes please," the middle aged looking woman spoke.

Alec turned around to face the group and spoke, "Uh sorry guys. I need to go help. Catch you all soon?" Then he walked away with them to unload boxes.

What's with people and unloading boxes? The thought annoyedly popped in my head.

"Who's Alice?" I broke the silence.

"Oh, she, she's someone," Jess spoke uncomfortably.

"I'm sorry guys I'll have to go, Aria is going to be home alone since Colin's parents are going out," Delilah spoke.

"I can come with you," Colin spoke.

"It's okay, just talk with the group I'll go now then," she waved and walked away.

"I'll be leaving too then. I want to pass out on the bed," Ethan's girlfriend left next. It was back to the original group except Alec was missing.

"Can someone tell me why everyone is so quiet?" I was starting to get irritated at how there's always secrets going around and I'm no part of it.

"She's an ex," Jess finally let lose and faked a quick smile which faded away.

She's just an ex? Why is the atmosphere so serious and heavy?

"Um? Someone tell me why everyone is so quiet though?" I awkwardly asked.

"Let's go to Hot&Dogs," Jess spoke, ignoring me completely. The group started walking without answering me as well. It was frustrating, this is not fair I want to be with Alec too. Why does the ex get to hang out with him?

"Can you guys explain what's going on?" I asked again.

"It's not really your business," Jess paused then formed a fake smile, "I'm really sorry Cecilia." She genuinely looked sorrowful. The other guys looked at me with pity.

My soul felt like it was shattered, it's not my business? For the first time that line hurt like hell. I didn't really cared much when people got agitated or annoyed of me being nosy.

But this, this moment right here hurt like hell. I could feel my eyes overwatering itself and my throat felt like barbed wires were wrapped around it.

As they walked towards the direction of Hot&Dogs, I felt like going home but I didn't want to let this go. So I followed behind them even if Jess's words hurt. Even if- if it's not really my business shouldn't I just go home? No, I felt this stubbornness within me.

As we sat down, the group just ate normally. This hotdog really isn't for me, it's so bad. I stood up, "I'm going to get the burgers, do you guys want any?"

"Heh," Colin let out briefly, "It's kind of insensitive to eat those don't you think?" He was staring blankly at the table then his eyes widen as if he made a realisation.

Everyone was still blankly staring at their tables while Colin quickly looked at me, "Sorry."

"Do you mind explaining why?" I looked at him dead in the eyes.

"Oh, it was Alec and Alice's favourite thing to get. Every time they came here they would always get the burgers and after awhile he stopped eating burgers," he slowly started to lower his tone.

"He stopped acknowledging that the burgers ever even existed here, he then started eating hotdogs to change pace. We just decided to join him here after that," Colin then stopped talking.

"Yeah it was really shocking and weird when he suggested to eat burgers all of a sudden that time," Kyle spoke.

Ohh, that's why everyone was eyeing each other that time, thought it was really weird. So, does that mean he still calls this his favourite place because of Alice? Would it be insensitive to ask about this?

"Also very shocking when he said he would never ride his bike around ever again but then he does now," Jess spoke.

"Anyway that's all we can tell you sorry, I don't know if Alec would be that happy if he hears that we spilled his history," Jess smiled.

There's something more to it? I thought this was it? What else could they be hiding, it was killing me to know. But somehow I felt that distance between us. I felt myself returning back to my old self. The shell without emotions.

"I see, I will go now then," I spoke coldly.

"Let me drive you home, it's pretty far," Ethan spoke.

"No," was the only word that escaped my mouth. I didn't hesitate to walk out and so without looking back nor waving anyone bye I left.

"Cecilia!" aunt called out, "Maybe it's time for you to stop going out so often," she smiled, "It's only few days before you leave why not spend time with us?"

I nodded and walked past her. Blake came running to me, "AhH! My mom told me take them to the next town's shopping mall. I didn't get to go to the bonfire," he rambled.

"What do you want to ask? Get to the point," I spoke straightforwardly. He then slowly started doing awkward gestures and eventually spoke up, "Was Jess there?" I could see his awkward shy smile on his face.

"Why don't you go over to her and ask her yourself," I spoke and walked past him too.

"Oh come on! I'm busy with taking your parents to the mall later evening again!" he desperately spoke.

As I was about to enter my room, Julia came running towards me. She had a bright smile, "Hey guess what?" I blankly stare at her.

She rolled her eyes and spoke anyway, "It kind of feels good to be on the other end of the break up well, at the end of not being heart broken cause we were just dating."

"That's nice," I spoke and entered my room.

"What a weirdo what's wrong with her today?" I heard Julia complain as I closed the door behind me.

I let out a sigh.
