Alec pov
Yesterday I snuck the snob out the house late around 1am to go the the space museum again. We then ended up going to the beach and star gazed. Well, technically I fell asleep. The lack of sleep was really getting to me.

Every summer at this exact date there's always a huge gathering, bon fire, music and fireworks. Not loud partying music but rather soft flow type of beat. It was a way to celebrate almost end of summer? It had that bittersweet atmosphere to it.

Ethan drove the others to the other town while I rode my bike there with the snob. It was perfect, the day was perfect with the golden sunset and the little chatters at the beach as well as the huge bonfire pit in the middle.

"Wow, there's a lot of people. Remember how this used to be more a small group thing?" Kyle spoke while looking around restlessly. Jess on the other hand laughed, "Yeah, why do you look so restless by the way?"

Kyle didn't respond he was looking around as if he was searching for something or someone. "Oh Cindy is here!" a bright smile formed on Kyle's face. As Kyle was about to quickly leave, Jess held onto his sleeve.

"What? Why? Cindy is-" she got cut off.

"It's okay. Cindy is not what she portrays herself as," Kyle had a genuine smile. Jess's grip on Kyle's sleeve slowly began to loosen. Soon Kyle turned away from Jess and started jogging toward Cindy.

When I turned my attention to Jess, her expression looked like she was... hurt? No maybe shocked? Or both. Then I felt something soft brushing my hand. I quickly looked down at my hand to see what it was only to see the snob adorably hesitating to hold my hand.

I let that go on for a few more seconds and smiled to myself. Soon I grabbed her hand to which she quickly looked at me with pure held back excitement expression on her face.

Surprisingly Colin was with his girlfriend. They looked like they were having fun. Delilah was swaying around a lit up sparkler while Colin was observing her with a soft genuine smile.

Ethan's girlfriend was wearing his hoodie while crouched down setting up fireworks. While Ethan stood beside her looking at a small instructions manual paper.

"Let's sit down over here?" I spoke. The snob nodded her head and we sat down. "Oi Alec can you help us with the firework?" Ethan called out. I instinctively glared at him and shouted, "Shut the fuck up and do it by yourself dumbass."

"Hey Alec, let's make a mini bonfire right here," the snob awkwardly laughed. In return I answered, "Sure," with a smile.

"Look at this two faced guy tsk," Ethan muttered.

"Hey! Mind your own business," I spoke upon hearing his mutter.

"You're so mean," the snob laughed.

"Wha- what do you mean?" I looked at her.

We fell silent as the ambiance of lots of people at the beach preparing their fireworks with their own groups and chatters grew. The murmurs and some playing their guitar softly filled the gap of our silence. It was very peaceful with the breeze occasionally blowing by as well.

"Austin?" she laughed after a brief pause.

"I told you not to call me by that name, it's odd no one has ever used that name to call me."

"Okay, Alec," she smiled.

My heart was feeling abnormal right at this moment.
"You're an inconvenient attachment," she laughed. I frowned my eyebrows, "What does that supposed to mean?"

"I mean it in a good way!" she laughed again.

"That doesn't sound in a good way to me", I folded my arms with a raised eyebrow.
