I got on my plane and let out a breath. I was finally doing this. I can't believe I hadn't runaway sooner to be honest.

Your probably wondering where I'm going, right? Well I'm going back.

Back home.

My shaky hands opened the small piece of paper that was in my bag. It was my dads number, I took it from my mom a long time ago and I have kept it since.

I took a breath and quickly dialled the number on my phone, as the air hostess said we had five more minuets before we had to put then on aeroplane mode.

After a few rings, he answered.

"Hello?" A familiar Australian accent said. "Daddy!" I whimpered, tears already streaming down my face.

"K-Kay?" He stuttered. "Yes, dad. It's me." I breathed out. "Is it okay for me to come home?" I asked, holding my breath. "Of course, sweetie! Have you got money, passport and hav-"

"Yes, dad. I've got everything." I chuckled. "I'm on the plane now, dad." I told him. "You are?! Oh I can't wait to see you, honey. But, there is some- changes that has happened. I'll just tell you when you get here." He rambled.

"Okay dad, I have to go now. Bye!" I said. "Goodbye, princess." He said.

I hung up the phone and slept the whole flight, to pass the time.
-------------------

My dad had texted me his address and the next thing I knew, I was stood in the porch way of a huge house.

I took a breath. You can do this. I told myself. I knocked quietly on the door.

A bright red haired boy opened the door, he looked about the same age as me.

Wait, is that Michael?! Michael was a friend of a friend, so I didn't really hang out with him, but we spoke a few times.

"Kayleigh?" He breathed out. "As in, my dads Kayleigh?" He said.
My face fell completely. "Y-your dads?" I stuttered. This can't be true. "Yeah. When your dad cheated with my mom, he got her pregnant." He explained.

Well, shit.

"Michael, honey who's here?" Someone shouted from somewhere inside the house.

"Come and see!" He shouted back. A few seconds later, you could hear heels clicking on the tiles. Michael opened the door fully and told me to come in while he got my things. I mumbled a thank you and stepped inside the house.

I was suddenly engulfed into a hug. I turned around to see you dad, smiling down at me. "Daddy!" I shouted. "I've missed you so much." I whimpered. "I know, shortcake. So have I." He breathed out.

"Is that the Kayleigh?!" Someone shouted. I looked up to see a middle-aged woman. She was blonde and had sparkling blue eyes. She looked very young.

"Yes!" My dad cheered, letting go of me. "Kayleigh, this is my wife, Juliet." He said.

Wife?

"Oh..." I said. "Hi!" I said to her. "It's lovely to meet you dear." She smiled sweetly at me. "You too, ma'am."

"This is Michael, my son." He said. Michael wore black skinny jeans with holes in the knees and a blink 182 tank top.

"Your... son." I repeated, trying to process the idea that I had a brother.

"Yes." My dad said slowly. "Well, when your mom was pregnant with you I-" he started but I cut him off. I wanted to avoid all awkwardness.

"I know, dad." I sighed. "I know what happened."

He looked at me with apologetic eyes.

"So, your mother treated you well then?" He asked me, raising an eyebrow. I gulped.

"Er, not exactly." I stuttered. This is the first time I was telling anyone about this. All of their eyes widened an they exchanged looks before I continued.

"She was okay, until she got a new boyfriend." I admitted. My dads eyes softened. "I don't really want to talk about how she treated me. The important thing is that I'm here now aren't i?" I said to them, sighing.

"Oh! Of course darling!" Juliet said. "You will have to share a room with Michael, unfortunately. Your room needs to be decorated first." She said, her eyes twinkling. "Really? Because I don't mind if Michael doesn't want to-"

"I don't bite Kayleigh." Michael chuckled. "And, I don't mind either." He said, shrugging his shoulders.

"Okay." I gave in.

"Michael, be a dear and show Kayleigh to your room." Juliet said. "Finee." Michael playfully rolled his eyes, making me chuckle.

Maybe this kid isn't as bad as I thought.
