My Promise To You

George's POV

A few days had passed and I was walking to school. After Clay and I had fallen asleep that night, we had gone to school together the next morning and we had basically talked all days long. If not at school then we were texting or even calling. Today was Tuesday and it was almost pride day. Normally our LGBTQ+ group was going to do something together, so I was excited for that.

I waited the whole day for the LGBTQ+ group to start and Clay, Hannah and I walked there after our classes had ended. We all sat down and I sat down next to Clay, talking a bit about whatever we had done at school today.

After a while the teachers came in and they had a big smile on their face. 'As you all know, we normally do something together on pride day.'

Everyone nodded impatiently and the teacher grinned. 'We are going to an amusement park together this time,' he smiled.

I immediately looked at Clay. 'Do you like roller coasters and such?'

'I'm not sure, I haven't been on them for a while. I would like to try them with you.'

'Of course, otherwise we can just go to the other things,' I smiled.

Clay nodded. 'I'm excited, I haven't been to an amusement park for ages.'

'Me neither actually,' I smiled. 'I'm happy you're coming too.'

'Are you?' Clay asked.

'Yes, I like spending time with you.'

We both giggled and looked at the teacher who started talking again. 'We will be going on pride day itself. We want to ask everyone to give us ten to fifteen dollars to buy tickets, that's not the full price of the ticket. We pay something as well. If you can't pay for personal reasons, you can tell us. We don't mind, but don't use it as an excuse.'

I saw Bad sticking his hand up and they looked at him. 'Skeppy knows, so I'm not lying, but we don't have a lot of money at home.'

I smiled and stuck my hand up. 'No worries, Bad. I can pay twenty.'

'What if we all just give a bit extra for Bad,' Sapnap smiled.

Everyone agreed and Bad was thanking us shyly after.

'We will be leaving earlier in the morning, you can all go to this classroom when you're ready. When everyone is here, we will be going to the amusement park. We need people to drive us, although if we don't manage to do that, we can always use the bus. It only costs a bit more.'

'I think my dad can drive us,' Karl said.

'And my mum,' I added.

'My aunt can drive us too,' Olivia said.

We counted the spots we had and it appeared that we needed one more car. Hannah told us her dad could probably drive and after that we just discussed some useful stuff. The times we would have to be here, the times we were going home. Food and drinks we had to take with us and maybe some extra money to buy something. Skeppy had already offered to take care of Bad's money and food, so that was out of the way too.

'We can make groups, who wants in which car?'

'I want with Bad,' Skeppy said with a smile and he wrapped his arm around Bad's shoulders.

'And I want to go with Sapnap,' Karl smiled. I saw Sapnap's face heating up slightly and I giggled. It was obvious that Sapnap liked Karl, but he hadn't come out yet.

'Can I go with Clay then?' I giggled.

The teachers wrote it all down and after a while we had made the groups. Since Niki and Cara also sometimes went to the group, but didn't go last times since they had been too busy, they were still allowed to come with us. I would be in the car with Clay, Cara and Niki and the other groups had also been made.

After school Clay and I sat down on my bed since we went home together and Clay looked at me. 'George, I want to make my first pride day special and I have an offer.'

'Okay,' I smiled.

'I want to spend the whole pride day with you, if I'm honest. If we both have enough money we can stay overnight in a hotel together.'

I giggled. 'I would love that.'

'We could of course ask Skeppy, Bad, Sapnap, Karl and others too, but I mean it more as in- I want to share a room with you.'

I smiled. 'I get that, I would love to.'

Clay smiled shyly. 'I'm not trying to be weird or anything. It's just my first pride day and I want it to be special.'

'I completely get that, Clay. It's not weird at all and I would love to.'

Clay giggled and we laid down on my bed. I was really excited for pride day to come and my parents were down to drive. I hoped it was going to be a great day and I was mostly excited to go with Clay. Sure, I had a lot of friends, but Clay was special. Not only because he was my crush and I was completely in love with him, he was also the best friend I could have ever wished for.

Maybe he was going to be my boyfriend one day, if I would ask him to be my boyfriend, I definitely wanted it to be in the amusement park. I could ask him to go with me in the Ferris wheel and at the highest point I would ask him to be my boyfriend. Maybe I would confess first and then see what happened. It would only be pretty awkward if he said no.

I smiled, I couldn't wait. I couldn't wait for the day I was maybe able to call him my boyfriend. Even though I didn't even know if he wanted to, I still loved thinking about it. I loved thinking about the day he could be mine after.
