Chapter 22 (Virgil's POV)

Logan's blue car rode through the motorway. There was some trafic today, it seemed as if many cars where destined to the same place than us. It was normal, today was 22nd December, and people went to the airport to get their flight and go on vacation.

"Do you really have to go? I don't wanna be alone," I groaned, looking at Logan while he drived. All four of us where in his car, to acompan him to the airport and say goodbye before he got on the plain to go to Canada.

"Yes, yes I have to Virge. The same way that you, Roman and Patton each have you go with your own families. I'll only be gone for a few days, I'll be back be on the 25th," Logan replied.

"You really don't have to come back so early, you know that, right Lo?" Patton insisted, as he half stood up from the back seat, "You haven't seen your family in a long time, and I don't want us to be any inconvineance. You should be able to enjoy Christmas the way you want,"

"I'm aware of that Patton, but I don't have any strong emotional bonds with any member of my family. I only see them on rare ocasions, like Christmas, sometimes summer, they are basically strangers to me. I'll ussually spend all the day in my room alone either way, so comming back with you is the best plan for Christmas," Logan explained once again, "And sit correctly Patton, i don't want anything bad to happen to you"

"Alright, alright..." Patton sat back down and started to gaze out the window, "Oh look, a plane!"

Roman and I turned to look out the window as well too the see the plane. It was far away, not too high in the sky, it had probably just got up from the ground. It was white, with all the clouds in the sky it could be lost from sight as it flew up and up into the air

"Now that you say it..." I looked away from the window to focus my attention once again on my boyfriend, "Is the flight going to be save? The sky is grey-"

"It's winter," Logan stated.

"-And maybe there's a storm. What if it's not a save flight? What if your plane get's caught in a bad storm and it crashes and you die!?" I looked at the back of the car, and saw Patton's concerned eyes looking back at me. I turned towards Logan, "I don't want you to die! Don't get in that plane!"

"Virgil, you are exagerating and over-thinking it all," Logan sighed, not looking away from the road. He never took his eyes from the road.

"You sure? What if I'm right? What if-"

"Virgil, breath in for four," Logan asked me, momentarely looking at me, with a calming expresion on his face

"Uhhhhh"

"Virgil..."

"Alright," I did what Logan told me.

"Hold for seven..." Logan continued

"And exhale for eight. I know this crap, Lo. I'm ok, I promise," I groaned.

"And I promise that nothing bad will happen to me, so there's no need to worry. Alright?"

"Alright..." I mumbled.

"Patton, that goes to you too," Logan added.

"Me? why?" He asked.

"Because you are also keen to worrying a lot, specially when we leave you alone with Virge. if you two end up alone together, you may end up ploting some kind of conspiracy. Nothing bad will happen, is that clear?"

"Yes, yes it is," Patton answered.

"Great. Now we can get to the airport without-"

"You promise to call the moment you land, right?" I asked.

"Yes, Virge," Logan sighed, but his lips where still curved on his face, "I'll call. Look, now it's 5pm, and the plane doesn't take off until 7 pm. The flight's length is around 1 and a half hours, meaning i'll get to Canada at 8:30 pm, which is the time that i'll try to call. Take into account that the plain may get delayed, maybe it goes slower, maybe the battery from my phone dies, which is a very pausible option since it has happened many times before, therefore, I may not be able to call until later. In other words, if I don't give you any news at all by 9:15 pm, you are allowed to get worried. If not, you'll have to promise me that you'll keep chill. Is that clear?"

"Yes. And the best thing is that now I have an excuse to panic," I exclaimed.

"Virgil..."

"it was just a joke, Logan," I mumbled, "...sorry."

"It's alright Virge, I understand that you get stressed and anxious much faster than other people, but again, I'm here for you, and I promise you that it'll all be alright," Logan repeated.

"Mm-hmm," I hummed.

"Oh, and Roman," Logan added.

"Huh? Me? What happens?" Roman mooved on the back seat, shifting his position to lean foward towards us.

"Don't forget to either finish your muffins before you leave, bring them with you, close the cabbinet, or throw them away.  I won't like to come back and find how an ant colony has stablished in our house," Logan requested.

"Oh. Oh, heh," Roman laughed, and he relaxed, sittinhg back down correctly, "Don't worry 'bout that teach, I promise that there'll be no ant colony when you come back."

"Splendid. Also, remember that it's your job to get the car back to the parking. Patton doesn't have a licence and Virgil finds it too much responsability, so, even if he'll guide you, it's your job to get it back save."

"I know, I know, we've discussed this before. Don't worry for your car, I don't plan on wrecking it or anything," Roman said, "And even if I do, there should be no worries because I'll pay for the reparations or just simply buy you a new one," He added.

"Uh... I would worry Ro. Have you consider that, in the chance of you wrecking the car, we'll be inside? Not all of us are rich like you," I replied, turning around in my seat to face him.

"Oh, right, I hadn't thought about that..." Roman muttered.

"Of course you didn't," I groaned under my breath

"Alright kiddos, stop arguing, we don't want to ruin this trip for Logan, don't we?" Patton also leaned foward, so he was closer both to me and Roman.

"Ok..."

I leaned my head agaist the window to enjoy the landscape. The sky was still covered by the grey clouds, that barely allowed the rays of sun to shine throught, making all the shadows become faded. We where getting closer and closer to the airport, I could already see the building on a short distance. Some planes flew, and Logan would leave the country in one of them soonly. I'd miss Logan. He'd be gone for just a few days, but still. I loved him so much, I didn't want him to go, even if it was just for a short period of time.
