Chapter 33 (Patton's POV)

Patton: Hey, Em?

Are you free?

Emile: Sure Patton cake

what's up?

Patton: It's about Roman

I'm concerned. A lot

Emile: oh, that sorta talk

what happened?

Patton: He has been acting distant lately

And today he went on this blind date he didn't tell any of us about

and he came home crying and he didn't want to talk to any of us and we had to leave him alone in his room and i'm very worried about him

Emile: I see... Could you give me more information?

How much do you know about what happened?

Patton: Umm....

He said that he had been set up by one of his other friends on a date with the guy who happens to be his ex

Emile: Am I getting a deja vu? Didn't something similar happen with Janus  and Virgil and Logan?

Patton: Yep, this is so weird, so many coincidences... I didn't know this sorta drama happened irl

Emile: me neither. It's like a cartoon!

Patton: I mean, kinda

We're getting off topic!

Emile: yeah right, continue

Patton: Right! So, Roman had been told amazing things about his ex and how he was a great person and how they where made for eachother but then he realiced who the guy was and he got super sad and dissapointed

and apparently this guy acted as if nothing had happened between the two in the first place which made things even worse

and it's been not so long since Roman broke up with Virgil so i think he is still touched by that

so the last news I got of him is that he wanted to be alone in his room

Emile: he probably just needs some time

I don't know Roman that well, I've dealt more with your other friend, Virgil

How would you descrive Roman's normal emotional state?

Patton: wdym?

Emile: Is he a person who feel emotions strongly? Does he ussually share a lot of this thoughts or is he more closeted? Have you ever seen him in a similar situation to the current one?

Patton: Well...

He did run away crying after he got rejected for a part that he really wanted...

and he does feel emotions strongly

he normally shares it all with me, but lately he hasn't

he's been keeping stuff inside and pushing us away

and idk how to reach him

am I a bad friend?

Emile: No, Patton, you're an amazing friend, you trust me on this one kiddo

Here's what i'll recomend so you can help him as much as possible

Give him space for a bit, offer him to talk but don't force it

try to do lighthearted activities with him like watching tv or a cartoon, steven universe for example

talking about steven universe, I also want you to take time for yourself Patton

Patton: huh?

Emile: you're the most kind hearted person I know and you're always there for others, but it'll break my heart to see you going again through what happened back in highschool

Don't get me wrong, helping friends is an amazing thing to do and i encourage it, but please don't bottle up and pretend it's all ok when it isn't

I wouldn't like to see you turn into a 15m tall pink gozila

Patton: heh

don't worry about it Em

I got you to talk, as well as my other friends

I promise i won't be bottling up

Emile: sending virtual hugs

Also about Roman

Make sure he knows there's people that love him no matter what

and that it's ok to not be ok

that's something very important

Patton: I'll make sure to let him know

Emile: need anything else?

Patton: Nope, i think that was all the emotional support advice i needed for the moment

Emile: Amazing.

Oh, do you wanna talk about the latest season of Owl House?

Patton: OMG Yes!!!!
