Hope you enjoy... *evil laughing*
Yuri quietly stood in the bathroom, his hands clenching the edge of the sink tightly as he stared up at his messy, wet hair. His cat ears twitching as they didn't like to be wet.
He forgot to bring his beanie. Yuri huffed a breath before hiding his hair and ears by throwing a towel over his head —He just had to be quick. He took a deep breath before opening the bathroom, quickly walking to the right room and searching for a beanie on his side of the bed.
Rae followed him with his eyes when he walked in, his body already tucked in under the blankets. The scent of freshly washed hair filled his nose and he almost hummed in delight as he took a deep breath in, enjoying the smell.
Yuri finally found a beanie and hid behind the door to quickly replace it with the towel. He hang the damp towel over a chair in the room and made his way over to the bed nervously, his heart quickening by every step he took. He climbed into the bed and crawled under the blanket with a sigh.
They laid in silence for a while, both very aware of the other and overthinking everything. Rae averted his eyes to the side, eying the quiet Yuri from the corner of his eyes. He watched his eyelids flutter sleepily, though he didn't close them like they wanted him too. He smiled at that for some reason. "Hey Yuri?"
"Hmm?" He whispered back, turning his head so he was facing the older.
"Are you okay with me being here? I can always just take the couch?"
"No." He replied quickly, a little too fast for his own liking. He cleared his throat and looked away again to try and hide his blush. "I mean, y-you're the person I feel most c-comfortable with, so I don't...—I don't know."
Rae chuckled softly, a sound Yuri found out he really liked to hear. "That makes me feel good."
"I'm sure it does." Yuri huffed playfully, earning a surprised scoff from Rae.
"Did I just hear sarcasm?"
Yuri blushed and turned away on his side, feeling embarrassed, but a shy smile did show on his lips. "No."
Yuri felt the matras dip as Rae shuffled a little closer. The heart of the wolf thumping out of his chest nervously when his hand hang in the air to touch the younger's back. Though he didn't and let his hand fall back onto the mattress. "You can be yourself with me, you know? I don't mind your sassiness."
Yuri giggled softly at that, turning back around on his other side to face him. His breath got caught in his throat, however, when he realized how close they now were, their gazes both locked on one another. "I-I am trying, it just takes a while... I guess. I'm sorry."
"No, no apologies." Rae smiled happily. "I'm glad you are starting to feel comfortable enough to be yourself around me. Just... take your time, I wont be going anywhere."
Yuri parted his lips in aw, feeling his chest burn with weird tingles and a fire he never had felt before. He slowly smiled at those words, his hand crawling out from beneath the warmth of the blankets to replace it with the warmth of Rae's hand. The werewolf's eyes flickered to their entangled hands, his thumb automatically tracing over its soft skin comfortingly, before flickering back to those electric blue eyes again.
"Thank you." Yuri whispered, his sleepy eyes slowly fluttering close. His body finally overwinning his stubborn self.
Rae watched silently as his little mate fell asleep next to him, his warm hand still holding his. He smiled and leaned forward to place a small kiss on the younger's knuckles, breathing out a chuckle as Yuri moved his head unconsciously closer to their intertwined hands. "Anything for you." He whispered, closing his eyes as well now he felt like everything was where it was supposed to be.
