Chapter - 08

Yuri purred softly as his eyes were shut closed, his cheek resting on the naked shoulder of Rae while the werewolf combed his fingers through the hairs of the younger. It had been a few minutes since Yuri's little outburst and Rae's discovery of what his mate had been hiding. The younger had fell asleep in his warm arms, feeling happy and content for once as the older held him close.

Rae smiled down at his sleeping mate, nuzzling his hair with his nose happily. The cat ears twitching at the unexpected touch. The tail had removed itself from around Yuri's leg a few minutes ago and had instead wrapped around one of Rae's legs, something that had made the older blush at the unfamiliar touch of affection and trust.

He still couldn't really believe that he had a Neko as mate. A hybrid that people believed to be extinct. But here he was, sleeping in his arms peacefully, alive and well.

Yuri stirred awake after a few more minutes and looked up from his sleeping place to lock eyes with Rae. He blushed, his cat ears moving with his emotions.

Rae grinned and ruffled his locks. "Morning, are you... going to tell the rest or do you want to keep this between us?"

Yuri pursed his lips, a frown visible on his face as he thought about that question. "M-maybe later today... or... I don't know."

"No pressure, just know that they wouldn't run from you. They're my family, they'll understand."

The younger smiled at that, his body moving on its own as he nuzzled the older's chin with his head. Yuri shamefully jumped back in surprise as he blushed furiously. "S-sorry."

"No worries, it's kinda cute."

"It's not, stop it." The younger frowned, slapping Rae's shoulder with a pout.

Rae chuckled and let Yuri go, slipping of the bed to change. The younger realized just then how long they had been sitting like that, all cuddled up. A blush made its way onto his pale cheeks, his fingers nervously plucking at the blanket while his eyes shyly followed the older move around. He wondered what he had been thinking that whole time, holding him.

Rae felt the younger's eyes on him as he changed his clothes, a grin pulling on his lips by getting the attention he wanted. Though he still was going to let Yuri do the first step, because the younger already knew how Rae felt about him so now it was up to him to take it.

Yuri eventually followed the older his lead. Crawling out of bed to start dressing for the day, slightly hesitating once he got to the part of hiding his tail and ears. He furrowed his eyebrows as he looked down at his tail swishing back and forth, not noticing the eyes watching him from afar. He eventually tucked the tail in his pants and grabbed the hat from Yara to hide his ears.

Yuri felt awful all of a sudden, not feeling comfortable in his own skin anymore as he looked into the mirror. Though he never did, but now there was finally somebody else besides his grandma that accepted him as he was. Rae saw the sombre expression on his little mate's face and frowned. He stalked over and placed a hand on his shoulder, turning him so they could lock eyes.

"Don't worry so much, you're beautiful no matter what. Just... be yourself, because how you look is the least important thing about you. Alright?"
