Chapter - 16

Yuri silently stared at the ceiling as Rae made himself ready for bed. The younger had so many things on his mind that he couldn't focus on one. Everyone knew now. His friends knew and they accepted him... just like that, no second thoughts. Maybe it was because they themselves also had a secret to keep. Yuri didn't know, but this day couldn't get any better by the way his insides tingled in happiness.

"What're you thinking about?" Rae asked from the other side of the room, changing clothes.

Yuri averted his eyes, too shy to look at that half naked body in front of him for too long. "Just... everything." He softly mumbled.

"It's a lot to take in, huh?" Rae agreed, slowly climbing into the bed next to him. "You want to talk about it?"

"I just—" Yuri started, but didn't even know where to begin. Everything was so weird and coming on him so fast, he hadn't had time to really think about what happened these past few days. He breathed out a sigh at his messy mind. "I don't know anymore."

Rae hummed, slowly crawling a little closer to the younger. The older's long legs softly brushing against his as he did. Yuri noticed and held back his smile, having discovered the love language of the other was physical touch. It was sweet, really.

"I want to see your wolf." He blurted out, turning his head to the side so they could lock eyes.

"Are you sure? I think it's a lot to take in right now." He mumbled unsurely. "Do you think you can handle it on top of all the other things we experienced this week?"

"I do." Yuri nodded, though he was a bit nervous. "I just... you know everything of me now a-and I just wanna know everything about you too." He softly explained.

Rae smiled, his heart warming up by his curious little mate. "Alright then." He agreed with a whisper. "I really hope you won't freak out."

"I won't, I promise." Yuri quickly said, not really knowing what he got himself into as Rae sat himself up. He watched him crawl off the bed to give himself more space.

"Aw, but I love these." He pouted sadly at his underwear before looking at Yuri.

"Are they... going to shred?"

"Not if I pulled them off, but I won't force you into seeing that just yet." He grinned before turning serious again. "Alright, here we go." Yuri gasped as a flashing light shortly blinded him, his hands automatically shielding his eyes.

He waited nervously, no sound to be heard other then his own rapid breathing. He was about to pull back his hands when suddenly something wet pressed against his arm, making him jump in surprise and yelp out. He looked at the thing that touched him and held his breath in shock as two golden eyes stared back up at him.

His lips parted in aw, though nothing came out when the big, black wolf tilted its head. "Erm." Yuri mumbled not knowing what to do, what should he do? There was a giant wolf sitting next to his side of the bed! "R-Rae?" He whispered unsurely, his legs shaking a little when the wolf hummed a rumbling sound at that.

The wolf, also known as Rae, huffed out while standing up on its four legs before leaning his head on the bed. Like he was waiting for Yuri to do something. The younger eyed the wolf slowly with nervousness, feeling like this wolf could tear him to pieces if he made any sudden movements.

Rae huffed again, clearly not patient as he now jumped on the bed, startling the younger. He let himself plop down, resting his head closer to Yuri's legs. His tail wagging happily while his ears were pressed back against his neck. Yuri tilted his head, his curious eyes scanning the black and grey fur with such an interest that the sudden wet tongue on his leg made him jump again. "S-stop making me jump!"

The wolf made a weird yawning noise before licking him again, shuffling closer. "You want me... to pet you?" Yuri asked, getting a little huff in return followed by a nudge against his leg with his wet nose. "O-okay." He mumbled unsurely, his hand trembling slightly as he lifted it up to pet the big wolf next to him.

His fingertips carefully brushed the hairs on its head before he slowly combed them through, the fur softer then he thought it would be. The wolf hummed in approval as his tail wagged faster, the thumping noise causing the younger to giggle. He felt the nerves leave his body as he scratched behind the fluffy, grey ears. Finding the wolf more cute like then dangerous at the moment. "You're so big." He breathed, amazed by the size of it when he almost took in half of the bed.

Rae made a weird whining sound again before licking his arm happily, making Yuri giggle and pull his hands away. "Stop, that's nasty."

Rae softly growled, playfully acting cute by rolling onto his back while panting. His golden eyes looking up at the younger as Yuri smiled down at him, his hand slowly rubbing his belly. "You're just a big puppy." He giggled, the fur on his stomach softer then the ones on its back.

Rae growled playfully, quickly turning around to pin the younger down to prove he was not. Yuri stared wide eyed at the big, black wolf on top of him. His heart speeding up when feeling like a pray being caught. Rae noticed and licked his face to apologize, turning back human to softly kiss his cheek. Yuri yelped in surprise, his blue eyes flickering between his. "Sorry, was I to much?" Rae softly asked.

Yuri shook his head, unable to get anything out at the moment. To amazed by the fact he was just a wolf a few seconds ago. Holy shit.

Rae grinned at the shocked expression he was wearing, quickly jumping off the bed to pull on some new underwear. Yuri realized then the older had been naked on top of him and almost choked on his own spit as he hid himself under the blanket. Oh.

"So...." Rae began after pulling on some underwear. "W-what do you think? Are you... scared? Confused?"

Yuri peeked from under his blanket to see the older climbing back on his side of the bed. "I...You— Your wolf is... big".

Rae burst out laughing at that, causing the younger to blush all over again at how stupid that sounded. "I-I mean, you were very pretty. Just... big."

Rae smiled, slowly shuffling closer so their legs could touch. "Did I scare you?"

"In the beginning, yes." He whispered. "But... after a while it... —I don't know, I just wasn't anymore."

"I'm glad." Rae hummed happily. "I would never hurt you, you know that right?"

Yuri hummed, slowly inching closer so he could place his face against his boyfriend's chest. Rae suppressed his smile before pulling the younger closer, softly inhaling his scent to calm down his nervous mind. "I'm so happy you are my mate." He whispered.

Yuri smiled at that, his arms slowly wrapping themselves around the older's waist to pull him even closer. "I'm happy too." He whispered back. "You're so cool."

Rae laughed again while burying his face in the younger's neck. "I'm cool?"

"Yes, you can transform! It was so... magical. —Does it hurt?"

"No." Rae mumbled, feeling himself on the edge of sleep as he closed his eyes. "It's as simple as breathing."

"So, h-how about that claim... thing again." Yuri slowly asked, not sure if he wanted to know what it meant, but couldn't help but ask.

"It's something we'll do when you are ready, don't worry."

"But, my heat—"

"That doesn't matter, I don't want to force you or make you feel like you have to do this. We will think of something." Rae frowned, nuzzling his mate as the thought of ever forcing him like that crossed his mind. Upsetting him.

Yuri stayed quiet. He had a feeling Rae was scared of something and he didn't know what. He wanted to help him, but also not force him into saying what was on his mind. Maybe he would tell him eventually, Yuri hoped. For now he just snuggled closer into Rae's neck and stayed there as the older softly rubbed his back, calming down his body instantly.
