Chapter - 21

Yuri uncomfortably squirmed around in his bed, not finding a good position to fall asleep in. He sighed in defeat as his eyes flickered to the clock on the wall, telling him it's five in the morning already. He never got to sleep.

The small boy rolled out of bed tiredly. He sat there for a minute just breathing in and out, trying to calm down his weird body. His hands combed their way into his hair and stayed there a few seconds. He was so tired. He slowly pushed himself up from the bed and out of his room. His feet that touched the cold wooden stairs causing a shiver to run up his spine, though it felt kind of nice for his burning skin.

His eyes flickered to the mirror in the hall on their own and took in his appearance when he walked by. Yuri had to stop for a second to register what he just saw. He stepped back a little and stared at himself, taking in the dark circles under his eyes and flushed skin. Goddess, he looked like a mess.

Yuri sighed once more before making his way to the kitchen. He grabbed himself some water and took a seat on the couch. He sat there in the slight dark for a while until he snapped out of his thoughts and put the tv on.

A few hours went by and the doorbel that rang made the younger jump up in surprise. Yuri stood up but felt incredibly weak all of a sudden, almost making him stumble to the ground, but he luckily caught himself onto the wall. Yuri frowned and slowly made his way to the front door. He grabbed the keys from the hanger and opened up the door to see who it was.

Rae saw Yuri's head poke outside and smiled warmly at the sight, those big blue eyes taking a second to register it was him, because once he did, his eyes had widened and he had pushed the door out of his way to jump into his arms.

"Hey, wow— Let's get inside first, baby." Rae chuckled, quickly carrying the younger inside because he was on full display with his tail and ears. "How are you?"

"Tired." Yuri mumbled absentmindedly. Too focussed on rubbing his face to his mate's neck. "Please don't leave me again."

Rae sighed sadly at that, one of his hands combing their way into his lover's hair while the other rubbed his back reassuringly. "I won't, I promise." Rae closed his eyes and kissed Yuri's cheek lovingly, glad to be back into his arms. "I couldn't sleep all night."

"Same." Yuri mumbled, his eyes fluttering close as he enjoyed his mate's kisses on his burning skin.

"Let's... —Let's take a shower, together." Rae softly suggested.

Yuri hummed, but did open his eyes again as he felt the nerves enter his body. That simple act felt so... intimate all of a sudden. "Okay." He whispered.

"Is it upstairs?"

"Yes, next to my room."

Rae quietly walked up the stairs with Yuri still in his arms and made his way over to the bathroom. He carefully placed the younger down onto the toilet seat before letting the water run in the shower. Once he turned back around, they both looked up at each other at the same time, feeling the slight tension in the room buzzing between their bodies.

Rae took a deep breath before pulling his shirt off, feeling his own heart thump louder by the second as his mate's eyes took him in. He felt so nervous all of a sudden. Yuri blushed at seeing Rae undoing the buttons of his pants and shyly averted his eyes. Oh goddess, why was he so nervous? It's just Rae. He has seen things before already, no need to act like a prude now. Yuri thought while he heard the pants of the older come down.

He carefully pulled his shirt over his head and sat there for a second before his fingers started pulling his underwear down too. He stood up from the toilet and pulled it down slowly, feeling like he couldn't breath by the way he knew the eyes of the older were watching him.
