What she saw

I felt someone shake me awake. "Damnit Juniper", I hear them say. I groan and open my eyes. I see Maria, who's looking worried. She's not smoking now, but you can smell the smoke in her breath. "I leave room and then you go and break neck. What the hell you idiot". "Sorry Maria", I mumble as I sit up. I grab my head and move my neck back. I wince. Hurts like hell. "You need to stop breaking your neck, Juniper. When you first come, you tried to break your neck and it didn't work. You should've known", Maria says as she's helping me up. "I know, I know. I'm sorry, Maria. I get it. I'll be fine, I need to do some paperwork", I state. "Fine. But don't do this again". I got up and walked away, heading to my office. I saw Maria head to the stairs.

A little girl was peering from a dark hallway, holding a stuffed bear with a Blue bowtie. She watched in horror as Juniper walked away after breaking her neck. She ran to a different set of stairs and ran up them all the way to her floor. Floor Yeti. She shivered as she felt the air change from warm to freezing cold. She ran down a hall and into a room. "Mommy!!", She yells. The mother of this poor child was sitting on the bed, reading a magazine about the hotel. "What is it, Tabitha darling?", She says, looking at her child. The girl, Tabitha is shaken up, "A-A girl broke her neck, but g-g-got up and walked away!", She says. "Oh dear. Maybe you just imagined it? Weren't you supposed to be at the play place on floor Kraken?", The mother asks.  "I couldn't find it, Mommy!", she cried. "Hunny, I told you which floor it was on, now go", the mother said calmly. Tabitha left the room, holding her teddy. She walked down the hall went up the stairs. All the way to the top of the building, which was really high up.

Up on the roof, she walked to the edge and looked around. "It's really pwetty up here", she said to herself. "Why yes it is", a man said. Tabitha turned around, "O-Oh, hi Mister. What are you doing here?", she asked. He walked over to her, "I saw you come up here and wanted to make sure you were okay", he said, his eyes looked gentle and his black hair flowed in the wind. She stared at him. He stood in front of her, looking down at her. Suddenly, he pushed her off the building.

Tabitha screamed as she looked up, falling off the building. She shut her eyes and then opened them again, the hotel wasn't there. Like it had never been there. Then, after a few seconds, she hit the ground and her screams cut off. It still sort of sounded like her screams were echoing through the woods. Her mangled and bloody body laid on the ground, her teddy bear still in her hand. Blood seeped over the ground and into the dirt. A deer walked by, only giving a glance at her. For sure, she's dead, I think we can tell by now. It's sad that the last thing she saw was the man who causes everything to happen to these poor folk at Hotel Cryptid.
