Mary Anne Beth laid down in her bed. Her lips were cracked, dark bags under her eyes, skin paler than normal. She was breathing slowly.
She had been attacked by a worker of Hotel Cryptid. It was a fatal attack. She was going to die eventually, she knew it. And it was coming.
Jay-Jay openned up Mary Anne Beth's room door. It was her parents' bedroom. It's also where Mary Anne Beth rests.
"Momma?", Jay-Jay asks in a hushed voice. Mary Anne Beth has been sensitive towards loud sounds lately. "Yes dear?", Mary Anne Beth asks. Jay-Jay walks in and sits on Mary Anne Beth's bed, next to her. "Are you going to get better?", She asks. Jay-Jay misses playing with her mom. A lot. Every since the accident, Mary Anne Beth has only gotten worse.
"Oh hunny. I don't know. All we can do is hope", Mary Anne Beth smiles warmly at her daughter. Jay-Jay looked like a younger version of Mary Anne Beth. "Can you do me a favor, sweetie?", Mary Anne Beth asks her young daughter. "I'll do anything you want, Momma!", She smiled widely. "Can you get your Daddy for me?", She asks Jay-Jay. She agrees and gets up. She bolts out of the room.
Tobias was filling out paperwork at his desk in a different room. Every few minutes he would check up on his wife or have Jay-Jay check up on her. Jay-Jay ran into the room. "Dad! Momma needs you", she says, going over to her father. Immediately, Tobias gets up. "Of course. Stay here, darling", he pats her head and leaves the room. Jay-Jay sits in her father's big ol leather chair.
Tobias, his black hair curled at the end, walks to Mary Anne Beth's room. His shoes clacked on the wooden floor. He was wearing a simple pair of dress pants, a white button up shirt with a cardigan over it. It wasn't the most fashionable, but he enjoyed wearing it. He didn't keep up with fashion, no matter how many nasty looks he got. He had on his round glasses that help him read.
Tobias entered the room. "Sweetheart, is everything alright?", He asked his wife as he sat by her in a chair he kept there. She smiled warmly at him. He gave her a soft kiss on the forehead. "I'm not doing so well", she sighed. She held his hand in a somewhat tight grip. "Oh my. Is there anything I can do for you, my love?", He kisses her hand. Her hand was icy cold.
She sighed again. "I wish I could just see The Willow Tree we planted many years ago again", she looked to the window and back to her loving husband. "Of course. I can take you there right now", he offered to his dying wife. "No. That's alright. Just promise to bury me there", she put her hand on Tobias' cheek and closed her eyes. A soft smile was on her face.
"Love?", Tobias asked. He didn't get a response. "Darling? Wake up. If this is a joke, it isn't funny", he said, panicking. He didn't want her to die. He didn't want to let her go. He felt her heartbeat. There wasn't one. She wasn't breathing either.
He hugged her and sobbed over her. He just lost his one true love. The only thing he had as a memory was his darling daughter, Jay-Jay.
Tobias vowed to make very single person whom every worker at Hotel Cryptid, their life, a living hell.
Juniper finished reading the chapter of 'Origins of Hotel Cryptid', the chapter 'The Willow Tree'. She looked out the window and saw the willow tree's leaves swaying in the wind. She knew, under it's tall leaves, was a rock, saying, "Mary Anne Beth Smith. Beloved Wife, Daughter, Sister and Mother. Forever loved, never forgotten".
