Calico looks at the wall designs. Pale, light green walls with forest design like crown molding. She never really had been in places so fancy. Besides when she was with Sapphire. That was her good friend from the past, her best friend.
Over with Juniper, she looked through worker's files. Every worker there had a file on them. It was necessary. "Dahlia, Donnie, Doja", she mumbles to herself as she reads the files. There is a separate room, hidden away behind the library in the meeting room. It's where they hide their important files.
Jay-Jay walked around the hotel. It was pretty much built. But there was still a decent amount of decorating to be done. Jay-Jay being oh so young, usually she would have to be supervised. But I like most days, she was free to walk around as she pleased. Jay-Jay didn't have any friends. So she didn't have anyone to talk to.
Walking around the halls, she went on to a balcony. It was winter and snow had fallen. Fresh snow. It glistened in the moon light. She saw deer tracks. This got her excited. She loved deer. She ran downstairs as fast as she could. If there were deer, she wants to find them.
When downstairs, she snuck out and followed the deer tracks. She followed them into the woods. She followed them until they just stopped in a clearing. Like, in the middle, no more tracks anywhere. Jay-Jay turned around, and the tracks were gone. Confused, she looked around. Still on the clearing, but the woods looked much more dense. She didn't recognize where she was. Which was odd as her and Mary Anne Beth often went into the woods around the hotel. She tried going back the way she came, but it felt as she was sonly going deeper into the woods.
Eventually, Jay-Jay found a cave. She went inside and curled up. It was dark. Extremely dark. It had to be past midnight. Hopefully dawn would come soon.
Birds is what woke up Jay-Jay. Birds chirped loudly. She left the cave and walked around. Snow had fallen again. She was freezing.
She walked through the woods a bit. Suddenly, she heard growling. Turning around, she saw a wolf, looking like it was ready to pounce. Backing away, she then started to run. Run fast. The wolf chased her. She ran through the woods. Eventually, she broke the tree line. She could see the hotel. A few trees were scattered here and there. The wolf was gaining on her easily. She couldn't get into the hotel fast enough. She screamed for her dad or her mom. She ran to a tree and quickly climbed up. High up. She watched as the wolf tried to jump up to her.
The wolf growled and snarled, bearing it's teeth. Jay-Jay screamed for one of her parents again.
Suddenly, her dad came running out. He had a gun. He shot at the wolf. The wolf got freaked out and ran off back into the woods.
"Sweetie, are you alright? You've been missing all night", Tobias ran out. He got her down from the tree and hugged tight. Tobias had been oh so worried about his young daughter. "I'm okay, daddy. I'm sorry", she hugged him tightly. That wolf had gotten her so frightened. She thought it was going to attack her.
Tobias took his daughter inside and put her by the fire place. He lit it and let her warm up. Tobias had been really worried about his little girl.
"Jay-Jay", Juniper read off. It was Jay-Jay's file. The scared, little blonde girl. She read through the file, "Blonde, green eyes, white. Daughter of Tobias and Mary Anne Beth. A young child when hotel was made. Grew up without her mother. Mary Anne Beth died when Jay-Jay was about ten years old. Mary Anne Beth's death is unknown. Suspected to be killed by Tobias. Jay-Jay is known to be non-emotional after mother's death. Known to have grudge against father, Tobias. When younger, known to be childish and love to laugh. When older, known to basically run the hotel", Juniper finishes. Juniper sighed, remembering the young, naive Jay-Jay.
Putting the file back in it's place, Juniper walked away, wondering why it is so oddly quiet in the hotel. As she walked, she treated people staying in the hotel. She walked by a door and saw on the balcony, sitting on a bench, was Dahlia and Aria, snuggling up to each other. Aria was running her fingers through Dahlia's hair.
Walking over to a little way's away, she saw Cecelia, playing with her grand-daughter, BlackJack. Over in the kitchen, was Grace baking while talking with Maya, who was sitting on the counter and sewing up a shirt for Tabitha.
Over on the floor where wall the workers stay, Charles is sitting in a little living room area, reading letters from his love, Damian, before he died.
Calico was also reading a letter in her room, it was in a blue envelope. It had a drawing of a sapphire on it. Calico saw Juniper, got up and slammed the door shut.
Juniper continued to walk, she saw Antoinette drawing someone, it looked like a pretty boy. He had curly hair and a bright, gap toothed smile. Juniper recognized the drawing. It was of a guy who worked there. Georgie. He was a dirty blonde, curly haired boy and dark eyes. He was pretty nice and polite. Guess Antoinette had a crush on him.
Back with Calico, she was reading a letter. From her old friend, Sapphire. She missed her a lot. They knew each other for a bit. It was actually kind of funny how they met. But that's a story for another day. It was in a blue envelope with a drawing of a Sapphire because that was her signature look. Calico put her ginger hair up. Sighing, she put the letters in her drawer. She pulled out a small jewelry box, it had a sapphire ring in it. They had traded rings one day, back before Calico died. Calico had given Sapphire a ruby one.
Calico put it on and laid down in her bed. It felt so long since she saw her. She missed her a lot. Sapphire was like a sister to her. A sister she missed a lot.
