"I'm looking for a Maeve? Maeve Blanchard. Medium height, About shoulder-length black hair. Cmon you gotta tell me the room I need to make sure she's okay!"
"Are you family?" The nurse responds to me
"No, But you have to understand this all my fau-" she cuts me off
"If you're not family you can't go in. That's the rule. I don't make it"
"I didn't ask for the damn rule! I asked to see her." I yell
"And as I said, Not family, Not getting in." The nurse says back
I huff and turn around to see Valerie there
"I got you" she mouths
"Him? He's the boyfriend! Maeve would want him in there." She says to the nurse
"Well, that's all you had to say. Room 150" The nurse smiles
I begin to walk and Valerie walks right beside me
"Thanks for saving my ass" I mumble
"We don't know each other very well but I do know you care about her, Plus you happened to be in the car too." She says softly
"How'd you get in so easily? I mean you're not family" I ask
"I'm on her emergency contact, Technically shouldn't be but nobody has to know that, Now do they?" She says as we walk into the room.
"Holy shit," I say a little too loud
"Damn Is that your way of saying I look hideous Orlando? Thanks, you don't look too bad yourself." She says casually as if nothing happened.
"How are you feeling?" I ask
"If one more person asks me that I will voluntarily put them in this hospital bed instead." She says with a smile
"Got it."
"But I'm doing okay, Thanks for being here." She says, taking a drink of water? I assumed it was
"Always will be, But do me a favor and never scare me like this again." I let out a sigh of relief
"I make zero promises" She responds
"We'll make sure to plan a whole fake death dedicated to you," Valerie says with a smirk
"Lovely," I say as Maeve turns to look straight at me
"Hey, Orlando come here," Maeve says with a smile
"I gotta get home, Have fun Romeo and Juliet, And Maeve take it easy! I'll be here to check on you tomorrow don't die on me" Valerie says walking out of the room.
"I absolutely love her. No matter how serious the situation she always makes me feel positive about it you know?" Maeve says looking at me
I listen to what she said earlier and take a seat in the chair next to the hospital bed.
"This is kinda terrifying. I'm trying to act all strong around Valerie because even through the strong act she puts on I know that girl would get so worried if she ever thought anything was wrong with me." She says fiddling with her fingers
"Hey, You don't have to try to be strong. Something horrible happened. And I'm right here to listen to anything you have to say" I respond
"I'm scared Orlando. I could've killed us both. All because I wasn't paying attention. God, how irresponsible am I? I could've killed the people crossing the road!" She says all in one breath
