32. To a New Beginning

The moon was high up in the sky but smoke of terror and loss filled the sky, making it impossible to get to see the stars and the moon. Dead bodies were thrown around. Screams and mourns were the only sounds besides the crackling of fire. The royal hanok was in ruins. Far in the border, people who were once the happiest, now we're leaving their home for an unknown but safe future.

The war was currently halted.

Anhye didn't speak a word after what happened. She was holding a cloth which held two rings. Both belonged to Il-Seong.

But finally when she decided to speak, her maids and court ladies were shocked. She requested them to leave her and go to their families to leave this kingdom of ruins. All of them unwillingly left her alone, because it was the Queen's order. Even though they tried to protest, Anhye was firm.

Suga stood behind her watching everything. He couldn't think how someone could be so cruel to destroy the lives of innocent people and a Queen like her. But he knows one thing, who did this.

Flashback, After Il-Seong's death:

Suga ran inside the palace towards the Queen's chamber. He could hear the cries as he entered, he took out the sword and killed the man in front of him. And then he was numb as he saw the scene in front of him. Even though he was not good at expressing, he grew fond of Il-Seong, whose sweet and bubbly personality warmed his heart. He loved how Il-Seong teased him, when Il-Seong told him little secrets of his sister. He slowly started to see Il-Seong as his own brother. And it triggered him. He ran out to find him.

And he found him as well. But Suga was shocked. A greyish glow was radiating from his body. He realised. Pyongwon received powers from Fake Eun Ae. It is then true, because Guardian Spirits are never allowed to give their power to a human. And any power can turn a human crazy. And it will slowly drain the energy of that human. Pyongwon was a puppet for that creature. Her only target is to get his energy from the humans and to take over both the kingdoms. And finally Min Suga.

-"So you are finally here, huh?"

-"Pyongwon, stop it before it's too late. Stop this. You already won. I know, it's the power of Eun Ae that made you all powerful in order to destroy us. Now stop this."

But he just laughed.

-"I won't stop until I have Anhye. I want her by any cost. I want to destroy that rat inside her and breed her my heirs. I want her mine, I want her body mine, I want her every inch as min-" Pyongwon was thrown away. Suga took out his sword.

-"Dare to take the name of my wife or my child with your filthy mouth. And it won't end well for you."

Suga was burning with rage. Pyongwon got up and took out his sword as well.

But what he did not know was that Suga didn't know how to lose. And on the other hand, using Eun Ae's power for a long time made him weak. He realised that he is currently nothing around Suga, sonare his men. He saw that the sun was peeping inside the room through the window. He quickly turned his sword such that the reflection of the sun directly fell on Suga's eyes. Suga got busy covering his eyes, while Pyongwon took advantage and ran away, knowing he wouldn't be able to end Suga.

Present Time:

Suga sat beside Anhye. Pulling her in his arms, he offered her some rice.

-"Please eat this dear, otherwise both you and our child will be weak." Suga fed his wife as they looked in front of them. The beautiful village was now in ruins. Only both of them were left. Dojeon didn't know because he was back in the mountains. But he sent him his message when the war stopped. And it was not possible for him to return that soon.

-"Anhye, let's move as well. Let's go to our cottage in the mountains. We will find the truth behind that Eun Ae. But currently your health is more important. I will carry you. Let's go tomorrow morning."

-"No, let's go tonight. I have nothing here anymore." Anhye said emotionlessly. She placed her brother's rings inside her bag and both carried their remaining belongings; their clothes and a few pieces of jewelry. And both of them started walking away from the place that now rested with their memories, both good and bad.

Time Skip:

It was dark and quiet but nature held her children in her arms. Clearing every obstacle that they might face. When they got tired, the trees made a nest for them, gave them the sweetest fruits and a soft breeze blew around them as the couple slept under the bright sky. Leaving their sadness and pain behind, they walk forward to a new beginning.

This went for a few days and Suga could finally bring the smile on his wife's lips. They could feel their little creation growing as it kicked inside her womb. The animals and trees helped them in every way possible. There was still a way to go to reach their destination.

It was a fine morning, birds chirping, sunlight peeking through the leaves. Anhye and Suga walked through the trees. They were informed by the animals that they will meet Dojeon on their way and they were quite happy until...

Suddenly some men blocked their way.
