Vinnie's P.O.V

I awoke with kisses on my shoulder blades and neck, sending a shiver of pleasure through my entire body. "It's so early," I grumbled, but he only chuckled, "finally, you're awake."

I propped myself up on my elbow and admired him, my heart melting with the warmth of his presence. His affectionate smile met mine, and I felt my heart awaken. Despite the threat of death looming over us, I felt safe in his presence.

"Are we still going to the beach later with Wes?" he asked.

"Of course! I can't wait to see him and have some s'mores - I haven't had them in ages!"

I remembered the last time I was with them - back when I was with my family. We ventured along the winding pathways, exploring the unknown. Later, we'd gathered around the campfire, sharing stories, and creating memories. Those moments were pure bliss.

"Earth to Vin? Are you there?" he said, snapping his fingers in front of me.

I blinked, "sorry about that. I'm not sure, about two months or something."

He then said, "well, to be honest, I've never had a s'more."

I couldn't believe it. "Wait! You're kidding right?"

"No. . ." he scratched his head, "mother called them unhealthy."

I was ecstatic as I shook him, " I'm so excited for us!" I said, my eyes sparkling with anticipation.

His laughter was music to my ears as he replied, "I'm excited too!" We heard a distant barking from downstairs and knew it was Rufus, so we got dressed quickly and went downstairs.

"Hey buddy!" I said, my arms open wide, as Rufus wagged his tail. I scooped him up and gave him a hug and then it hit my nose. The pungent smell of poop.

"I'll take care of Rufus while you shower, deal?" I said to Leo, giving him a quick peck on the cheek. He nodded and went upstairs. I grabbed a towel and looked at Rufus with a smile.

"Come on stink butt, let's go and clean you up!" I said, taking him outside. After caring for Rufus, I served his lunch. Getting a dog while I knew my time was running out was not the most sensible decision, however, I felt Leo would have a companion to assist him in dealing with the pain of my passing. Leo then made his way down the stairs, clad in nothing more than a tank top and a pair of swim shorts.

"You're next, babe! I've got it from here." I flew up the stairs and rushed through my shower and applied sunscreen, throwing on a white tank and dolphin-printed trunks.  I grabbed a tote bag and began packing all the beach gear we'd need.

As I was heading back down, Leo asked, "Is everything packed?"

"Yep, towel, sunscreen, and spare clothes, all checked!" I replied with a smile. Leo then added a paper bag and a couple toys to the bag.

"What's in the bag?" I asked.

Leo beamed, "Just a few goodies for Rufus."

We were now all set and Leo helped Rufus into the car before we rolled down all the windows. When we arrived at the beach, the sound of howling seagulls filled the air. The surfers grabbed their boards and dashed towards the ocean, and children attempted to build sandcastles.

Leo pointed out, "Look, Wes is back there." He was sunbathing on a sun lounger. When we got close to him, I kicked sand on him to let him know we were here.

"What the hell?" he took off his sunglasses and realised it was me. "Dick. Look, I got us the best spot on the beach."

"I can see that. How many sun loungers did you pack?"
