Chapter 15

*PHILS POV*
Dan's body was on the ground, bruised and it looked painful, an obese man was being hand cuffed, paramedics went to kneel down by Dan as others grabbed the stretcher from the ambulance.
I nearly collapsed but i stopped and picked myself up to go help Dan.
"DAN!!" I screamed causing heads to turn, I ran over but when I was about to grab Dan in my arms I was pulled back. When I looked it was a cop.
"Sir please stand back." The cop said in a superficial voice.
"That's my boyfriend!" I yelped trying not to cry.
"Please stand back, we need to leave him to get medical help."
I rubbed my eyes and turned my head back to Dan, his body was still.
"Atleast tell me what happened??!!" I grabbed the cops arm but he pushed me to the ground immediately, gasps filled the crowd, the cops face stared at me with fury but then he cleared all emotion.
"Please don't touch me sir," he brushed 'dust' off his shoulder, "we don't know what happened yet, please leave it to us, the best you can do is be patient and keep well."
The cop walked away backing off the crowd who's eyes were now all on me.
A gentle hand touched my shoulder, I turned now to what seemed to be a friendlier face from what I could see through my tear filled eyes.
"You can ride in the ambulance with him," a kind female voice calmed me, it was the paramedic attending Dan, I tried to smile as a thank you but it was difficult.

The ambulance ride was long but I think that was just because all I could think about was what happened to Dan, who was that man getting arrested, what did he have against Dan?
Also... Is Dan alright? I wanted to touch him, I wanted to kiss him, I wanted to comfort him but I was ordered not to touch him at all.
I was leaning close though, his usual body warmth wasn't there, he was cold, I didn't like it.
A tear dropped from my eye and fell onto his arm.
I want my Dan to be okay.
"Hang in there love.. Stay with me... Don't leave me hanging... Not on christmas, not ever" I sniffed.
The nurse from before came over and sat by me in the room that was left in this small vehicle.
"From what we have seen so far, he will be alright," she reassured me.
"What happened to him?"
"I'm not sure but so far we have found a fracture in his skull, a broken rib cage and the rest are just minor injuries... All these things are not good however, fixable," she whispered knowing she wasn't supposed to give out too much information.
"Thanks for letting me know," I looked at her, she was a petite pale girl with ginger hair and freckles, around the age of late 20's, she had small lips and her hair was in a bun tucked into her paramedics cap.
"I'm Phil," I put my hand out to shake.
"Diana," she smiled shaking my hand with what seemed to be pleasure.

I think I just made a new friend.

Hours passed of being at the hospital waiting for Dan, I was in the waiting room while they performed surgery on Dan, they were finally stitching him up as I was told by Diana who so kindly came to give me details every half an hour or so.
Finally she came over again and sat beside me, she was so nice.
"Dan just got out of the surgery room, he still hasn't awoken once but surely will be soon, he is definitely okay." She said as if it was the final word, so I smiled, "although you won't be able to visit him untill tomorrow, you have had a long day, go home, shower, i see you have shopping here you should get home."
I looked down to my right where both mine and Dan's shopping bags were, I refused to look into Dan's bag I still want his christmas present to be a suprise, but I could see into mine.
I zoned out looking at the gifts I bought him, as I pictured what his face will look like when he sees them christmas morning.
I snapped out of my trance to Diana's voice, "Phil?"
I looked up to her immediately, her face looked worried, I nodded my head to show my understanding.
"Thanks but I think I'll stay.."
She shook her head smiling, "that's cute.." Diana giggled slightly, "would you like me to grab you some coffee from across the road?" She offered.
"No it's fine,"
"I'm going down there anyway," that's when I knew Diana is the type of girl who won't take no for an answer.
I chuckled, "alright, but I owe you one day, you have been so kind."
"Hey it's my job," she looked down blushing, I could tell this was the start of a great friendship.
I pulled her in for a hug, she hugged back and it was quite refreshing really.
"As soon as your shift is over you should go home, you have worked hard, I've been watching you running back and forth ever since we got here!" I praised her but the she looked away nervously.
"My shift ended about 4 hours ago," she laughed and then got up and left.
She is such a caring person, I can't wait for Dan to meet her.

A/N
Was this chapter still short? I tried to make it longer but I don't think it worked. I'll make chapter 16 even longer.
