~The Next Morning~
After I get up and got ready for the day, I start doing a little research on my laptop in the kitchen about Fighters and Hells while having a cup of coffee. This has been the only opportunity I got since I came here to look into this. I've looked up definitions and even read a few articles. However, it seems like their origins are a big mystery to a lot of people. I've read that Fighters and Hells aren't even supposed to be known to anyone who isn't either-or. Somehow that all got out and everyone knows, which seems to be causing a lot of problems for the Fighters. Law enforcement wants to try to arrest anyone who is a Fighter, but it doesn't make sense because they're not doing anything wrong. Ugh, just like Glass.
I was about to look up stuff on Storm and see if there's anything on her. However, the basement door opens and there was Storm herself.
"I think we have a plan on getting Icarus back," Storm says as she comes over to me. Of course, I close my laptop before she came to me.
"What's the plan?" I ask.
"You and I are going to sneak in and create a distraction so that some of our other guys can get in there and get Icarus," Storm says.
"Seems simple enough."
"Let's rock 'n' roll. Our guys should be already at their spots. If I were you, I would bring some spray paint," Storm says with a grin.
"You had me at spray paint," I say as I stand up. Storm laughs a little as we walk out of the kitchen.
I quickly went into the bedroom and grab my backpack. I always have spray paint in my backpack since I always did graffiti whenever I would wander around in Glass. It's a hobby of mine, but sadly I won't get to do that here because I won't be able to go out into the city that easily. I was already warned that before coming here. It doesn't bother me too much owning the fact that the Manor appears to have a lot of places to explore within it.
I went back to Storm after I put my backpack on, and we went outside with the air being warm as well as feeling fresh. Storm gently grabs my arm and we shapeshifted into a mist. I find myself on a rooftop with her and that one place from yesterday wasn't too far from us.
"Is everyone in position?" Storm asks into her comms unit. I don't have one yet, so I don't know what's going on. "All right, everyone is in the clear. One of our guys opened a window for us to sneak into."
"Where at? I don't see an open window," I say as I look at the building.
"It's on one of the lower levels. Easy to get to."
"Good. I surely don't want a repeat of yesterday," I say with a sigh of relief.
"Sadly you are," Storm says, and I turn my head towards her.
"What?" I ask, and she pushes me off the rooftop. "STORM!"
I find myself standing on the sidewalk and my heart was pounding through my chest. Storm shows up beside me and I want to yell at her. I can't believe she did that a second time! Again, why!
"Dammit, Storm! Are you seriously trying to give me a heart attack!" I yell.
"Don't worry you'll get used to it," Storm says as she looks around. "Come on. The window is this way."
I follow Storm until we find an open window like she said there would be. Do people not notice this since there are people around, or do they all just ignore it? This is very weird, still. This does remind me of the Conglomerate, and how they just look away from everything plus pretend that everything is okay when things aren't.
