~The Next Morning~ Nomad~
I wake up at eight-thirty as usual thanks to Storm's lovely alarm on her phone which is super loud and it always startles me. I lazily climb down the ladder as I find Hunter sitting on the edge of his bed, rubbing his face with his hands to try to get rid of the sleepiness. Guess I'm not the only one having trouble waking up this morning, but it always seems like Hunter is every morning since he's been here. You figured by now he would be used to it.
About yesterday, we hung out for the rest of the day, and I'm starting to get more comfortable around him. He's really not a bad person at all, he's very friendly. Well, towards me anyway, but he does seem nice to others from what little I've seen with him talking to other people. Of course, he's nice to Storm, but you kind of have to be, and he's trying to be nice to Icarus. I still don't understand why Icarus wants me to stay away from him, he hasn't done anything wrong.
"Morning, Hunter," I say as I move slightly towards him.
"Morning," he says as he stands up.
"Are we going to be training this morning?" I ask since we agreed on doing some training today if nothing happens.
"Sure, just have to wake up first and get some coffee," Hunter answers as he stretches.
"Okay. I'll meet you in the kitchen, then," I say with a small grin, then I walk out of the bedroom, and went down to the kitchen to find Storm, Icarus, and Merc at the table, talking about something.
I don't pay much attention to them as I was getting some breakfast since I have Hunter on the brain. It's nice that he's willing to help me out whenever I'm down even though he's sort of part of the problem, but I try not to think about that too much. Even though I am getting comfortable with him, I still have mixed feelings about him, but I don't understand them at all. Of course, Storm will say it'll take time, but I wish I can figure things out.
I sit at my usual spot at the table just minding my own business and start eating breakfast while continuing not to pay attention. I stare off into space until there were fingers snapping in my face, making me snap out of my daze and turn my head to whoever had their fingers in my face.
"Finally. I was trying to talk to you, but you wouldn't even acknowledge me," Storm says.
"Sorry, I'm having some trouble waking up," I say as I start to rub one of my eyes.
"Considering Hunter looks more alive than you do," Storm says, and I hear a slight chuckle to my right. I turn my head to find Hunter sitting next to me. Geez, when did he even come in here?
"He's having some coffee, so of course, he looks more alive," I say as I stretch out. "Are we doing anything today?"
"Not at the moment," Storm answers.
"Good," I say after I get done stretching some more.
"Why?" Storm asks as she looks over at me.
"Hunter and I are going to train together today," I answer.
"Oh. Really? Not training with Adam today?"
"He has something to do today so we won't train until tomorrow."
Storm turns her head towards Icarus. "Why don't you join them for training today?" Storm asks him, and honestly, I'm hoping he says no and Storm doesn't force him to. I just want it to be me and Hunter.
"Can't. I still have my session with that Jackson. The guy is crazy," Icarus says, and I let out a small, unnoticeable breath of relief.
"He's not crazy," Storm says.
