~The Next Morning~
I suddenly jump up thanks to the alarm startling me, and for some reason, I feel weird. I know I had a dream last night, but strangely, I can't seem to remember... Oh well, it was just a dream not like it means anything.
I climb down from my bunk just as Hunter sits on the edge of his bed and was rubbing his face with his hands. He seems to be still half asleep.
"Having a rough start?" I ask him.
"Just have to get used to getting up at eight-thirty," he answers as he stands up and stretches out.
"Used to sleep in late?"
"No, I used to get up earlier. Eight-thirty is technically sleeping in for me."
"Oh... I don't know how other groups are run," I say as we walk down the hallway.
"Differently than Storm's," Hunter says, then he goes into his bathroom.
I went into the kitchen only to find Storm, Icarus, and Merc. I grab a pop tart from one of the cabinets and join the others at the table.
"Morning, Nomad. How'd you sleep last night?" Storm asks.
"Fine, I guess. I had a weird dream last night, but I don't remember it," I answer.
"I hate it when that happens. Sometimes they can mean something important or it's trying to tell you something," Storm says, and I look over at her with a puzzled look.
"Really?" I ask.
"Yeah. Well, at least my dreams do, but my mind runs completely different from yours," Storm answers, then Hunter walks in. "Morning, Hunter."
"Morning," he says as he went over to the cabinet and grabs a pop tart since that's all we have. "Are we doing any jobs today?"
"Likely. Probably some survey jobs until we can figure shit out," Storm answers as Hunter sits next to me. I should probably get used to it since I'm his lover and he's likely going to want to be close to me as possible.
"From some of the reports, it looks like she's building something over at that place so she can try to put the whole city underwater," Merc says.
"So we'll be doing a search and destroy job," Storm clarifies.
"Big time since apparently, this thing is going to be big," Merc says.
"Hopefully it won't be too much of a problem," Storm says.
"Reports say that the clones have been patrolling the operation, so it may not be as easy as we would like it to be."
"We can take care of them since they're missing one," Storm says, and I couldn't help but glance over at Hunter, but he doesn't seem to be bothered by it.
"Where he go?" Icarus asks.
"Somewhere. Don't really know," Storm answers, and I'm very confused, but I just shake it off since I'm sure she's lying about it to avoid having to explain everything to him.
"Getting rid of them should be easier now since you've gotten rid of the strongest one," Merc says to Storm.
"Hopefully. I'm not too worried about Cam and Blake, it's just Dustin and Shane that are going to remain a problem," Storm says.
"I don't know who's worse. Shane or Dustin?" Hunter chips in.
"I'm going to have to look at their file because I can't put faces with names," I say.
"I'll give it to you after I get dressed," Storm says as she stands up and she walks out of the kitchen.
"Those guys are pretty tough. Storm and I had to deal with them when we were trying to find you," Icarus says to me.
