Ch. 48 | Fake Friends?

"D-Demi?!"

I gasped. I still can't believe what Max said. Will she really do that?! Because she's not like that. I know she won't do something that will surely harm her friend.

"Please, Max. Tell me the truth. You can't lie now because-"

"The f*ck! I'm telling the truth! Don't make me a liar Selena!" He shouted at me.

"Calm down sir! You're at a police station because you did something violent and you have no right to shout at someone you just mistreat!" The police officer shouted.

"Here are the files and information about Mr. Max Murray." Someone handed some sheets to the police officer.

I sighed. It's my first time in the police and I feel very displeased. It feels like I am a huge troublemaker, and it also feels like I'm the only seventeen years old girl that's been to jail.

"Maxwell Wayne Murray. 18 years old. From what I can see here, Mister. This is your 7th record of fraud. And you never stay in jail since you are wealthy. You always pay the fee." The police officer said. "This time, I can't assure you that you'll be able to pay it by money, Mr. Murray."

"What?! Why is that?!" He was alarmed.

"You deserve it. I was the last person who you messed with, Now you go where you belong." I rolled my eyes. "Does it feels good to hear that, Maxwell?"

He was just speechless. He might not expect him to be detained for life.

"Not everything can be paid off by money, Mr. Murray. You can't just go out there and harm other innocent people. And because of your money, you can harm more and more people. Well, tell me. Do you have a right hand? Another person that prevails as your accomplice?"

"I have! I have! And It's the heir of Kuri Company! Maria Savannah Kuri! And also her friend, Kaori Schroeder!" He answered right away.

I clenched my fists. I knew they won't let me leave peacefully because they think that they changed schools and got humiliated because of me.

"I know them, Mister! They both tried to harm me, but they didn't succeed because I'm not like others who let themselves get bullied by someone. I think they're getting back at me, Mister." I immediately clarified.

"So, They were involved so we should call them too. As for you, Mr. Murray, You will be imprisoned for now."

They handcuffed him and lead him to jail. I looked at my phone and got so many text messages and Instagram messages. Most of it was Antaios's. And my brothers messaged me too. In the group chat, I saw a bunch of chats asking "Hey Selena! Answer us!", "Hey, Selena! Where are you?!", "Your Brothers are seeking the whole neighborhood but you are nowhere to be seen!"

I tried to video call all of them. I also added my brothers to the call. I didn't turn on the camera because I'm not ready to explain yet.

"Selena! You finally answered! Tell us where are you, All of us are gathered in your house just to look for you!"

"Where the heck have you been?! We've been worried sick about you!!"

"Don't stay silent! Answer immediately!"

I can't talk. I'm scared that they'll scold me when I told them that I'm at the police station. I don't want to worry them but, They'll get more irritated if I don't tell them the truth.

"I'm at the Police Station. Just come here so I can explain to you everything that happened."

I hang the call up. I am not ready to explain so I'll just wait for them here.
