"N-No, Mother" I smiled awkwardly. "You don't need to because..."
"Because???" She raised her eyebrows. "Because you still have feelings for Attorney Lopez, don't you?"
I was speechless for a short time. I don't know what to answer. Lying is also bad.
"I was just trying to cheer you up, Sweetie." She held my hand. "C'mon. Let's head into your parent's grave."
"That's a very awesome idea, Mother. I also had some great news for them."
We headed there. It's not so far away and we arrived just in half an hour.
The graveyard was covered with snow, so I swept the snow away with my hand.
Hi! Mom, Dad!
I overreacted in the court lately, Which made me so embarrassed. But I ignored all of that because the trial went well, and it looks like I'm gonna reach justice for you two in the hearing. I missed you so much, Mom and Dad. Mother, Father, and Patrick were here with me. The only one missing in our family is Christian. I hope he is doing well. Anyway, my birthday wish is for both of you to rest well. This will be all. Goodbye, Mom and Dad. I love you.
After a few minutes, we bid goodbye to them. The snowy wind was getting strong so we quickly headed to the car and went home after.
"Did the trial went well, Selena?" Jace asked.
"Gladly, It does. I'll just patiently wait for the hearing and grab the justice." I replied.
"I'm glad for you, Selena!" Samuel smirked. "When will the hearing be?"
"On my Birthday, the last day of December."
I literally did nothing the whole day. I can neither clean the house nor wash the dishes, and they've been replacing me, My brothers. They're the ones that have been washing the dishes and cleaning the house.
We waited for the day to come. This time, I'm not nervous anymore unlike how I felt before and during the trial. I will surely get justice for my parents this time.
December 31st, The day of the hearing.
Is it just me, or the atmosphere here is getting a little bit weird? Auntie isn't glaring at me anymore, and she looked so down. I see Christian right in the next row of seats, and it looks like he came to the hearing to see his mother before she got detained.
"Nicole Parker, the accused, is found guilty of committing homicide and will be sentenced 25 years to life in jail."
My mood brightened up more when the judge said their decision. I was so happy that I hugged Mother and Father.
"We did it! Mother, Father!" I teared up while hugging them.
"Yeah, Good job!" Father tapped my back.
"Hey, You did well..."
Alissa walked in front of me and smiled at me, like I didn't do anything wrong to her.
"Alissa!" I hugged her tightly. "Thank you for being here with me, although you are mad at me. Thanks a lot"
"It's okay, Selena. I forgive you now. You should have fun because it's your day" She held my shoulders to face me then smiled at me.
"This is God's greatest gift to me. I'm already having fun now, Alissa." I wiped my tears.
"Let me guess, that's tears of joy?" She wrapped her right arms around my shoulders.
"Yeah, It is!" I smirked. "I'm so so 100× happy right now!"
The hearing ended and it looks like Auntie is getting imprisoned already. I was with Alissa, Mother, Father, and Patrick that time and we left the court. We were currently at Father's car, and we did some talking.
