❝Passion of wine red, glamour of violet, sweet candy pink, bewitching blue, just wanna kiss you❞
In which Tantiana University accepts another batch of elite vampires on the start of the fall season and the chairman decided to ask his daughter to gre...
"You're so stupid, what the fuck?" Aerin sighed and grabbed the vampire's sketch pad with the bag of crayons.
"Excuse me?" he scoffed.
"You're excused," she mumbled. "Who the fuck colors the sky red?"
"I can hear you very loud and clear," the annoyed vampire gritted his teeth.
"That's great then. You can hear every curse I'm throwing," she retorted, making him click his tongue.
Nevertheless, he just watched how her hands worked. Crayons between her pretty thin fingers as it brushed through the messy sketch. The boring white spaces slowly emitted soft visuals, highlighting the page in a lively way.
He watched her play with the small colored sticks, picking one after another with ease and familiarity. Her glossy pink lips are lightly puckering in focus, eyes down as her brows occasionally knit and relax. Her long, wavy raven hair was gently carried back with the wind. The dark color of her strands contrasts with the sunflower palette of her shirt.
She looks so entertained, even with just a pad and pencils. Renjun could never. He could never sit in the grassy field under the afternoon sky. Heck, he could never imagine himself taking a lengthy walk from the exhausting university to a park to what the humans called unwind.
Everything was the first time, though not everything. It was the first for him in some sort of way. For example,
"Why are you staring at me like a creep?"
The vampire immediately responded with raised brows and lips parting in an inch as he let his turtle brain load to 100% and flashed a quizzical look.
"I'm not staring at you."
"Yeah, you do... like 2 minutes."
Yeah, like, for example, staring at a human girl for two minutes.
"TWO MINUTES!?" Renjun exclaimed, startling the girl. "You wish."
"Yeah, I wish so too. If I hadn't known that you'd already fed at noon, I already considered running," she giggled and dropped the pad on his lap. "Tada!"
Following her beam, Renjun looked at the fully colored sketch and, not to deny, he's impressed.
The skies are a gradient blue, blending in light to darker shades. The clouds are in white smoke, perfectly accenting the soft ceruleans.
Just centimeters below is the approaching sunset glow. Like strings of light, creeping through the existing afternoon weather, waiting for it's time to fully show by the ongoing ticks of the clock.
They just sat there. Just an hour ago, Renjun decided to make a piece for his major art class.
It was just an empty and trashy sketch. But with the colors, it was pretty. It was perfect.
"How was it? I did good, did I!?" Aerin beamed, swaying her body side to side like the excited kid she is.
The vampire hesitantly looked back, a small curve in his lips as he cleared his throat to suppress a full smile.
"This is my homework."
"So? Mr. Yongqin didn't know I colored it," she shrugged. "You don't want to? Then gimmie."
"What are you even going to do with this?" he looked away, darting to the baby blue skies that's already radiating a marigold shade.
"Excuse me, I have tons of art pieces in my room," she replied, reaching for the pad, yet the vampire was quick to hold it away.
"Bad girl," he flicked her forehead, making her yell.
The sight of her sulky face made him chuckle, his eyes in a genuine curve.
Aerin gaped at the sight. The vampire would just smile once in a blue moon, and when he does, it feels like the day shone brighter.
His two-toned hair wasn't gelled up like usual; rather, it was just down and casual. His obvious canines were on display at the sides when he opened his mouth. His lips were like a plush of red cotton; they'd always look soft and attractive. His pale skin contrasted with the midnight shade of his overall clothing. He's always sporting a dark look, but he still indescribably shines.
Maybe she wasn't slick enough, and her sudden silence sparked his curiosity. Renjun smirked when he caught her staring, then moved his face closer.
"Now who's staring?"
It made her eyes widen, then pushed her body back from the close distance. The surprise force made her head bump on the tree trunk; she obviously forgot that she was seated near it.
"Shit," she cried, massaging her poor skull. "Now my remaining brain cells have popped."
"Stupid," Renjun laughed, his head throwing back as his hands clutched on his stomach.
"You flirt!" Aerin huffed, still rubbing the sore part.
Reaching the discarded hardbound sketch pad, she continuously hit him, yet his laughs just got louder.
"Not hurt!" he teased, still in giggles as he yanked the material from her hold. "I'll use it as a sign of you liking me."
"You wish. I never will. Never ever."
Yet the vampire just smiled, wide and bright, like the fulfilling warmth of the setting skies.
What now, Renjun? What do you want from her now?
Because the present time is just too alarming. It's too warm, and the more he digs deeper into her life, the more he's slowly drowning.
