Everyone stood still, shocked at the directors orders. The screaming has long since stopped but I wasn't sure if he was dead, or just not screaming. The blood on the floor where he was struck was still bubbling and crackling.

"Washington, go get Alaska." His voice was riddled with anger.

"I really don't think..." I started to say. The director cut me off

"Fine" he snarled. "Obviously you know what's best" the Director stormed off.

I looked at the time. It was already 10:00 pm. I was worried about her. No noise had came from her room for about an hour.

Quickly I walked over to her dorm. What had happened? I knocked on the door softly and it slightly swung open. Inside the room was dark and cold.

The guard laid on Alaskas bed with blood stained sheets. A clean bondage was tightly wrapped around his arm. With closer inspection, I saw he was breathing. Alaska saved him, but where was she?

Alaska sat asleep with her head drooped on the desk. Her blonde hair fell over her face. A few strands stirred as she exhaled. I brushed her hair out of her face. Her eyes slowly opened.

"Hey" I whispered.

I looked over. Blood stained some of her hair and hands.

"Why don't you wash up. We have a mission tomorrow morning. I'll get a medic to take care of this. You can sleep in my bed tonight." I helped her up. She grabbed some clothes and walked down the hallway into the showers.

A medic came in and silently pushed me out of the room and I sat waiting outside the showers for Alaska.

I must have dozed off because I awoke to the shower door opening. Out came Alaska, clearly worn from the past events. She was wearing sky blue pajamas. I smiled at her. Both of us were ready to get to bed. We walked down the hallway and stopped at my dorm. Immediately I realized I hadn't cleaned it in God knows how long.

I opened the door and cringed. A tiny laugh came from Alaska.

"Uhh.." I scratched the back of my head.

"It's ok" she replied with a chuckle.

"To make it up to you..." I said. I scooped her up in my arms. A little squeal came from Alaska.
"I'll carry you so you don't have to walk through this shit"

"I really don't mind but thanks!" She was full blown laughing now. I set her on my bed and laid next to her. Tiredness set in. I turned over to say goodnight to Alaska, but she was already asleep. Smiling, I fell asleep.

I was awoken by Alaska tossing and turning. Through the dark silence, I could hear her teeth chattering. She was cold.

Without hesitation I moved closer to her and wrapped my arms around her in an embrace. I held her tight until the tiny shivers faded and her breathing fell into sync with mine. The curve of her back perfectly fit into me, like a puzzle piece. We were meant for each other.
