I was only three when my parents left me. I only have a vague memory of my moms strawberry blonde hair, and my dads deep, reassuring voice.
Carolina was 9 and had a much more vivid memory of mom and dad. She often told stories, like when I was born, or the first time I went to the zoo. But when they started being around less and less, Carolina naturally took role as my motherly figure. She has been since.
After mother died, our father slipped into a deep depression. He often came home, reeking of alcohol and cigarets. Rage fits filled our life when our living father turned sour with sadness. Father knew that he was being a bad father and when I was four, and Carolina now ten, we were put in an orphanage. At the time I didn't know this, but that's when father started project freelancer.
We both grew up quite happily in the small orphanage, but everything changed when Carolina showed promise to the director to be a freelancer. When Carolina was 12, she was called up to the freelancer headquarters. She was given an offer with a spot in the program, and she accepted.
Carolina suddenly left me with out me knowing. I was left in the dark. I missed her deeply, only 6 at the time. Through those years, I built a wall around my heart. I didn't want to love anyone again, because they always left me.
At age 14, I was told I was supposed to see my sister and go to the place she was. Though no more information was given. I was excited, not knowing what there was to come. I didn't know this, but I was replacing a former freelancer Georgia.
My 16 birthday came and my career started, but so did my story.
