Vixen POV

The man in front of us wore a sly smirk and played a loud note on his flute, causing small birds and animals to scatter in fear.

The man appeared elderly by local standards, likely over 50 if he were human. If one winter here equaled a year on Earth, he would be well over 500 years old.

"You thought we wouldn't notice, huh?" the man taunted. Soon after, we heard approaching footsteps.

Jiaro's grip on me tightened, but I signaled for him to put me down. Reluctantly, he complied, and I pulled a dagger from my waist. The two men began transforming into their lycan forms.

"The last time we met, we knew you had seen females, but it seems you've kept this beautiful female hidden during your trip. This proves that there are more females left. Show us the way if you want to keep your lives," the youngest man in the group demanded, his pride evident.

Jiaro and Kairo responded with intimidating growls, ready to defend. They let out powerful growls again as they attacked the men surrounding us. I prepared to fight as well.

In the ensuing melee, Jiaro was surrounded by four attackers. He defended himself while waiting for an opportunity to strike. Seeing the danger he was in, I attacked the closest man with my dagger.

Stabbing him in the neck, I distracted his attention from Jiaro, who seized the chance to eliminate the man. The attackers tried to strike Jiaro, but their claws only found his back as he took the offensive. Vixen's distraction allowed him to strike back.

With precise moves and brutal efficiency, Jiaro fought against his adversaries. Meanwhile, Kairo was grappling with two opponents, not allowing any distance between himself and me.

He attempted to thrust his claws into one opponent's chest, but was met with a strong punch from the other. His attacker then tried to strangle him. However, Kairo countered by forcefully kicking the opponent, causing him to collide with a large rock. Seizing the opportunity, Kairo tore out the man's heart.

The two men proved to be strong and skilled warriors, possessing royal blood. They had been trained since they were five winters old, which made them valuable assets to their village. Yet, even with their formidable abilities, Jiaro was still outnumbered.

Jairo, now surrounded by four men, could only defend himself. But before the situation worsened, Vixen attacked the man targeting Jiaro. Her intervention allowed him to eliminate the threat and focus on his other attackers.

As Vixen fled, her vampiric speed outpacing an older pursuer, she shot him with her gun. The bullet struck him in the chest, causing him to fall from the tree to his death.

Vixen grappled with the guilt of killing a man for the first time since her days as a vampire on Earth. She couldn't believe she had taken a life. Her heart raced, and memories of her past actions as a vampire resurfaced. Her mother had asked her not to kill anyone before she died, and she had honored that request until now.

Taking a deep breath, she returned to the others. The two men appeared relieved to see her unharmed, but something about her had intrigued them. There was something different and captivating about her, and they didn't want to let her out of their sight.

Now the men were heading back to their village, concerned about a growing illness that was affecting their village. The illness made their hearts race when she was near. They knew that if they didn't return soon, the disease could take more lives, and they might never see Vixen again.

Back at the cave, Kairo decided to gather medicinal herbs and food, while Vixen tended to Jiaro's wound. It wasn't a deep wound, but it needed attention.

Vixen had various items in her bag, including clothes, her gun, a pouch with her cellphone, money, and ring, her water bottle, steel containers, and alcohol. She used the alcohol to clean Jiaro's wound, even though he didn't flinch, as he was accustomed to getting wounded. Kairo returned with medicinal herbs, meat, and fruits, and Jiaro's wound had healed completely.

As they lay facing the fire, Vixen couldn't shake her worries about aggressive males or what might happen when she entered the men's village.

"You mentioned it's your first time meeting a vampire. How do you think your village will react when they meet me?" she asked.

"They'll be surprised and probably full of questions," Kairo replied as he added more wood to the campfire. "Our ancestors traveled across the Usuro planet but never encountered a vampire or learned about your characteristics and abilities."

"But you have nothing to worry about. They won't harm you," Jiaro reassured her, offering comfort.

Vixen couldn't help but smile at the two men. Her interest in them had grown from their appearance to how they made her feel safe.

"You said there's a girl who wanted to choose you as her mate, right?" she continued. Both men nodded.

"What if I want you to be my mates instead? Would you agree?" she inquired.

For a moment, their eyes widened in surprise. They exchanged silent looks and then nodded. Vixen figured they might want to refuse her, but she had no intention of giving them that opportunity.

"Now, you guys have to take responsibility for me choosing you as my mates," she declared before turning her back to them.

She smiled, closed her eyes, and dreamt of what the future held for their unique union. The two men were left pondering their customs and the challenges they'd face together.
