Chapter 28

Vixen POV

It's been a week since I told them that I am pregnant and the two males has become really over protective. The whole village also congratulate us, they are very happy and excited when they learn about the news especially the king and queen.

Cleo and her sister Clay were now staying at the new house that Jiaro and the other warriors had made.

For the whole week countless of fruits, clothes and tokens are given to us, they said that it became their tradition ever since the war ended.

Siya and Liya's family gave us fabrics that they personally weave while Flos gave us fruits the one that taste like grapes. I also met Zanda when her family visited here, although she ignored me.

Now, I'm seating in our living room with Jiaro, we're making baby clothes out of fabrics given to us. Jiaro is to focus on what he is making to the point where his frown got deeper and his eyes narrowed.

Kairo is outside patrolling with some warriors for a little bit. Whenever they have to go outside to do their princely duty one would stay with me here inside the house.

I'm not really sure on how many weeks I've been pregnant but as day passed the baby inside me grow and the thinner, I become which made the two worries, but I told them that it's normal and will eventually stop after I gave birth. I also feel that my energy drop quickly just like Liya had told me.

I look outside the window the temperature is slowly increasing as day pass by, although there are still snow but it's not as heavy like last week. I wanted to go out but the two didn't want too, I have to at least perform exercise to have a healthier body but yeah, my energy won't just go with the flow.

"Can we go out?" I asked Jiaro for the third time. "I want to go at the seashore or to the forest."

"No." I sighed at what he said.

"Please, you can just carry me." He looked at me as if thinking if he would say yes or no, I gave him a puppy eye.

"It would be hard for you." Yes true, but it's harder to be just stuck in here. "Fine, but I'll carry you all the way there."

"Of course!" I gave him a smile then I slowly stood up. He helped me put on my cloak and boots, then he organizes the things scattered in the table of our living room.

When were outside the house he started to carry me in a bridal style. He started to walk down the hill until we reach the houses of other Usuros. There are some warriors scattered around and females hanging out talking something but when they saw us, they stop to give us a smile and greetings.

When the queen visited our house, I asked her if there are other female Usuros who is pregnant but she said I am the only one who is pregnant right now. I wanted to talk with them so I could ask some things about their pregnancy.

Jiaro continue to walk until I saw Cleo, she's looking or more like glaring at me. Her menacing eyes focused on me; did she think it would scare me? In her dreams.

I remember when she goes at our house during dinner asking Jiaro if she could sleep there. Jiaro frowned at her that time then he accompanied her back to the house they've made. Although I still saw her following the two but I didn't mind it that much and my ignorance about her seems to make her crazy and pissed.

"Are we going to the seashore?" I asked Jiaro instead avoiding Cleo.

"Yes, there's a lot of pig fish that will appear today." He said, I saw one pigfish before and they are cute and harmless. They have for legs, just like pigs they have snout but their ears are like a fish fins and their tail are wide and thin, they have pinkish color some have dirty white.

I forgot to bring Vexana with me but earlier this morning I didn't found her in the house, maybe she fly away again just like before.

When we arrive at the seashore there's already a lot of them crawling in the sand looking for possible places, they can lay their eggs. There are some children who are helping them and some are petting the unmated pigfish while the adults Usuro are shoving some snow away from the sand.

"Can I walk?" Jiaro nod the he slowly put me down, his holding my waist for support as we walk. From the distance I saw a huge rock and we walk towards it to take a seat.

"What do you think will be the gender of our child?" I ask Jiaro, his seating behind me while his hand encircled protectively around my waist.

"I think it's a male." The queen said that Usuros are able to identify what will be the gender of their child by 70%. "What name do you want for him then?" he looked at me as if he wants me to be the one who gave our child a name.

His hand caress my flat stomach, my baby bump is starting to show. Unlike humans who have 9 months to carry their child Usuros only have 5 months. Usuros grow rapidly inside their mother's womb because of the nutrients and energy it gets.

"You two are here." I look around to see Kairo approaching us.

"Hey!" He bends down to give me a quick kiss.

"There's no one in the house so I ask and came here" Kairo said.

"I wanted to go out for a bit to have a little exercise." I explained.

I unintentionally yawn causing the two to raise their brows in me, I was about to say something but another yawn came out from me. I look at them with teary eyes from yawning then I laugh. We're not even here for an hour and yet her I am yawning.

"Come on let's go back you're already sleepy." I groan at Jiaro but he just gave me a smirk then he started to walk carrying me.

It's still noon but I'm already sleepy. We walk back to the forest with me yawning and the two keep on chuckling.

The soft cold wind blowing around made me even more sleepy, so I close my eyes but it instantly open when a loud boom echoed around us. The birds are flying away as soon as they hear the sound the pig fish that's crawling run to hide.

We look at the main land to see a dark smoke emerge from the forest. I'm sure that the smoke is from the explosive we have planted, this means that someone step on it.

From the forest there emerge a couple of aggressive males.

"You two go back I'll handle this." Jiaro said then he handed me to Kairo. Jiaro gave me a smile before turning his back to us.

"Let's go." I nod at Kairo.

During our way home a lot of warriors was running going to the seashore and when we reach the village Usuros are outside their house, they're talking to their neighbor's. They may already have the conclusion on what's going on.

I place my hand on my stomach for a minute I felt fear creep inside me. It's fear for the child inside my wound I know that at any moment a bloody war will emerge and safety is not 100% guaranteed especially that the enemy are huge in number.
