Chapter 23

Vixen POV

We excitedly follow the warrior. My heart beats faster and the smile plastered in my face grew more wider as we finally reach the sea shore. From here I called see their silhouettes and I excitedly wave my hands.

"You're not excited at all." Liya sarcastically said beside me.

I laugh at her, Siya's not with her. She said she just wanted to see the three to update Siya and of course to know what news they bring. I look around, the king and queen are also her, there are even some kids, they are all look excited too.

My body that's pressed in Kairo's body instantly leave to meet Jiaro. His walking fast and a wide smile is on his face. I jump to hug him and he welcome me with open arms, his muscled hands immediately envelop my body pressing me against him.

"I missed you." I said hugging him tightly. I felt him gently place a kiss on my temple.

"Hmm. Me too." He tucked away some strands on my hair to the back of my ear then his large hands cup my face.

"Welcome home brother." Kairo said then they greet each other, their hands and elbow are raised together then they bump it with each other.

I check Jiaro's body if there are any scratch or wound exist but he seems so fine. I frown when I catch a familiar smell around him, where do I smell this odor before? I just shook my head maybe he took a bath in the waterfall before going home that's explain his smell. My whole focus is on Jiaro that I didn't notice the king walk closer to us.

"Welcome back son." The king said then he pat Jiaro's shoulder. "Okay, everyone since it's cold out here let's return to the main house first." He then announced.

"Let's go." I nod at Jiaro then he intertwined our hands while Kairo let my arms encircled around his, we walk with me in the middle until we reach the main house.

The warm atmosphere greeted us and everyone took their seat, the three of us took our usual seat which is in the middle and in front place of the hall. The king and queen sat on their throne that is newly put in there.

I saw Liya at the right corner of the hall she's waving at me, I mouthed her to sit with us but she rejected. I think she's trying to hide from the three so that they can't bombard her with their questions.

"Oh, I'll go for now, I'll just return quickly later after I finish this task." Jiaro said when the king called him. He gave me a smack kiss in the lips and a killer wink before leaving.

Laying my head to Kairo's chest I watch Jiaro as he goes to his father and disappeared when he entered the backdoor. While waiting Kairo's hands played with my hair, the whole room was also becoming more crowded as more Usuros appeared to hear the news.

I saw Flos entering, he mouthed Liya's name and I point my finger at the place where she is, I didn't mind following him with my gaze because I already know what will happen if those two met.

Finally, Jiaro and the other four warriors came out from the back door. They march in front of the king and queen and in front of everyone.

"We do not bring any good news however we found something interesting." Jiaro started, he looked at me then he smiled.

"We encounter a lot of aggressive males and it's far from normal. We manage to wipe two camps of aggressive males near the island, the two camps contain about 10 to 15 males." One of the three said.

Everyone looks really serious, their faces frown deeply others have their hand in fist and others hug their love ones but despite of those looks I know deep inside they are full of hope. For a moment the hall turned quite until Jiaro's second in command talk again.

"Most of the males are old and they do not have proper equipment on them. They may have advantages like their numbers but they also have weaknesses. Our warriors are young and trained so we can fight them."

The king stands up, "We have advanced a little, we have explosive that can greatly help us thus our survival rate has risen."

Everyone smiled at me when the king mentioned the thing about the explosive. Jiaro's eyes sparkle and he smile proudly, Kairo kisses my temple and smirk. Some people breath in relief and started to talk to each other. I even heard my name being use between their talks.

"And in order to make sure that we attain peacefulness we have to prepare for their attack." The second in command took a paper from his pocket. "This paper contain on how they plan to attack and just seeing this we could make a plan to counter attack them." Everyone clasped their hands and gasp.

"We are going to inform every household about the plan if everything is already been finalized." Everyone in the hall nods their heads to the king. " For now, let's celebrate the successful mission of our warriors." The king gestured his hand.

"Bring in the foods!"

Everyone settled on their tables. Jiaro talk to his father first before finally coming to us, he took his seat beside me.

"Explosive huh."

I smirk at him arrogantly and he just laugh at me. Later on, the food was placed in front of us and as usual Kairo being sweet as always, he served me. I pouted when he put a lot of food in my plate again but I just heard them chuckle.

"Phahal I have something to tell you." Jiaro said.

"What is it?"

"We found-" Jiaro's word was cut off when a warrior came in saying his presence is needed by the doctor.

*sigh*

"Can you tell them I'll go later when we finish eating." He ordered to the warrior. The warrior hesitates at first but Jiaro gave him a bored look making him nod.

"I-I'll tell them your highness." The warrior bow's his head then he leaved.

Jiaro groan then he pinched the bridge of his nose. I slightly punch his muscled arms to get his attention, woah his bicep really felt like a stone, so hard. He put his arm around me then he inhaled my scent deeply.

"I want to go home." He said sighing which I frown.

"You're not going home?"

"More likely, because I have to take care something"

My shoulder drop, he just arrived but he has to work again. I force a smile at him, I have to understand there are loads of work to do especially he is a prince, after this we could take our time without disturbance.

Again, I saw the warrior walking towards our direction, guess they really need Jiaro. Jiaro apologectly look at me, he gave me a smack kiss before finally leaving. It would be me and Kairo again who share the bed today, Kairo guided me out after we finish bidding our goodbye to the king and queen.

I notice the weather gets colder this time and the snow falls harshly than the last time. Even though the sun is out the surrounding looks really dark.
